Chapter 103

“Khaled!” Gabriel’s angry reprimand was cut short. What just happened? Did Gabriel actually yell at Sonia because of Suzanne? Even Santa would be speechless. Gabriel had openly humiliated her in front of everyone. She was still the daughter of a major shareholder, after all. How dare a mere assistant raise his voice at her? Who on earth is this Suzanne? Everyone else was wondering the same thing.

Gabriel glared at Sonia and ordered, “Apologize to her.”

Sonia stomped her foot, crossed her arms, and shot daggers at Suzanne. She said coldly, “Apologize? Why should I!?”

Gabriel opened his mouth, but before he could respond, Sonia snapped and pointed at Suzanne. “She’s not allowed upstairs without an appointment! I didn’t do anything wrong!”

Did Gabriel think that just because he worked by Austin’s side, he could disregard her? She might just be the receptionist, but her status was far above Gabriel’s.

Gabriel’s expression darkened. He said frostily, “What you did wasn’t wrong, but your attitude is unacceptable. Did you really think it was okay to make baseless accusations? Sonia was simply using her status to do whatever she pleased.”

Unwilling to back down, Sonia pointed at Suzanne again and questioned, “Who exactly is she? Why are you defending her like this?”

Suzanne cast an indifferent glance at Sonia, no longer inclined to listen to her railings. She turned to Gabriel and said, “Let’s go.”

With her lunchbox in hand, Suzanne stepped beside Gabriel.

“This way, please.” Gabriel’s earlier authority vanished as he immediately spoke respectfully. Then, he turned to Sonia and said sternly, “I’ll deal with you later!”

“You!” Sonia was on the verge of exploding with rage.

Everyone watched as Suzanne and Gabriel left. As soon as they stepped into the private executive elevator, whispers erupted.

“Who is that woman? She even called Mr. Hall by his first name.”

“She’s definitely not ordinary, from the way she carries herself.”

“Yeah, could she be Mr. Hall’s future wife?”

“But I’ve never heard of Mr. Hall being in a relationship.”

Ignoring the murmurs, Sonia clenched her teeth as she watched Suzanne leave. The only one fit to be Austin’s wife was her—Sonia. No one else was worthy!

In the elevator, Gabriel stood respectfully beside Suzanne. He was thinking about how to deal with Sonia when Suzanne suddenly asked, “What is Austin doing right now?”

Gabriel was briefly startled before he replied politely, “Mr. Hall should be reviewing some documents in the office.”

Suzanne nodded in understanding and tightened her grip on the lunchbox slightly.

The executive office was large and spare, decorated in a simple grayscale palette. Yet, every detail showed sophistication. Directly ahead, an entire wall was lined with bookshelves filled with various books. A black desk was placed in front of the bookshelves, and behind it sat Austin with a serious expression.

A knock sounded on the door. Austin was busy reviewing documents and didn’t even look up when he said, “Come in.”

The door opened.
