Chapter 101

Sonia slammed her ballpoint pen loudly onto the desk and looked up at Suzanne. A flicker of mockery flashed across her face as she raised her head and said, "Miss, you can't enter without an appointment here."

The people nearby turned to look at them inquisitively.

Samia closed the laptop in front of her and sneered as she continued to criticize Suzanne, "If you’re here to fawn over and seduce Mr. Hall, please try elsewhere. This is a workplace." It seemed that from Sonia’s tone, she had already concluded that Suzanne was here to curry favor with Austin.

The people around them looked at Suzanne with a bit more disdain. It appeared they assumed that when a woman was attractive, she was trying to use a man to get ahead.

Suzanne’s hand hung in the air for a moment before she tucked it into her pocket. Her gaze darkened as it landed on Sonia, and she asked coldly, "So, you’re saying I’m here to seduce Austin?" She was only here to deliver lunch, yet somehow, she ended up running into something that drew Austin's attention.

Sonia crossed her arms and cast a disdainful glance at Suzanne. "What else would it be? I see women like you all the time. You think your looks are enough to catch the attention of Mr. Hall." Sonia rudely accused Suzanne without any hesitation. Then, she sneered and added, "Dream on!"

When she saw the disgust others had for Suzanne, Sonia’s mood lifted somewhat. She picked up the pen she had tossed onto the desk earlier and carefully placed it to the side. She wanted everyone to see that no matter how beautiful a woman was, she was only intent on seducing men.

The spectators around them began whispering among themselves.

"How could she do something like this? She’s such a pretty young lady."

"Yeah, doesn’t she have any shame?"

"If my daughter behaved like this, I would disown her."

The way they looked at Suzanne grew even more disdainful.

Suzanne paid no attention to the chatter. She placed the lunchbox on the counter before turning her attention back to Sonia. She asked coolly, "Is this how you treat every visitor?" There shouldn’t be such "tools" in Austin’s company.

Sonia shot Suzanne a scornful glance and said, "I only treat people with ulterior motives this way." She had seen too many women like Suzanne. They assumed that every man in the world would fall at their feet just because they had a pretty face. But she wasn't one of those men.

With that, Sonia pressed the intercom and said, "Someone is making a scene at the reception desk. Please have her escorted out."

Although Sonia said "escorted out," it was clearly an order to kick her out. The security guards arrived quickly and surrounded Suzanne. Seeing this, Sonia grew even more smug.

Suzanne’s eyes grew cold. "It’s not your place as the receptionist to indiscriminately drive away visitors." Sonia was running the reception desk entirely based on her own biases. If she kept this up, it wouldn’t be good for Austin’s Corporation.

Sonia paused for a moment but quickly let out a cold laugh. "That’s none of your concern. Do you really think you’re someone important?" Who did Suzanne think she was to talk down to her? If one didn’t know better, one might have thought Suzanne was Austin’s wife.

The security guards glared at Suzanne menacingly and said in a firm tone, "Miss, if you keep causing trouble, we’ll have no choice but to take action." The onlookers quickly stepped back upon seeing the situation, not wanting to get caught up in the commotion.
