It seemed Zoey was completely in love with Colby now. She wouldnโt be fooled by Aiden again, so Josie had nothing more to worry about.
Sean had the driver drop Zoey off on the way. After Zoey got out, he tilted his head and leaned against Josie.
โWhatโs wrong?โ Josie asked nervously, supporting him. โDid you drink?โ
โI helped Elliot by taking a few drinks for him.โ Sean leaned against her, remaining still. โLet me lean on you for a moment; Iโll be fine soon.โ
Josieโs hand, which had been supporting him, retracted slightly. She said, โLean on me for a while. Tell me if you feel unwell, Iโll press the anti-hangover acupoints for you.โ
โOh?โ Sean glanced at her slightly. โCanโt you press them now?โ
Josie pursed her lips, her face burning red. โI can.โ
After hesitating for a second, she reached out, took his hand, placed it in her palm, and began gently massaging it.
Perhaps because her feelings had shifted, not only was her heart pounding wildly, but her concentration was also scattered. Her eyes kept being drawn to Seanโs hand.
His hand was so large, his fingers thick and long, yet they didnโt seem clumsy. Instead, they were very masculine and good-looking. When his fingers curled slightly, they could envelop her entire hand, making her feel incredibly secure.
Wait, wasnโt she supposed to be pressing acupoints? Why was he making a fist?
Josie was stunned, looking at her hand wrapped in his large palm, feeling a bit confused.
She turned her head to look at Sean, and he happened to lift his face.
Their noses were almost touching. Josie instinctively wanted to pull back, but he was leaning on her shoulder.
โSean?โ Josie froze, her entire face turning pinkโฆ
Sean lifted his chin slightly, seemingly about to touch her lips.
The car stopped. The driver in the front turned around. โMr. Reedshaw, weโve arrived.โ
Josie shot out like a startled cat.
She scrambled out of the car door and rushed into the house.
Sean sat up straight, pressed his forehead, and sighed. โWhy canโt I ever control myself?โ
The driver in the front looked awkward and flustered, โMr. Reedshaw, Iโฆโ
โItโs fine. Itโs late. Go rest early.โ Sean adjusted his collar, opened the door, and got out.
He walked in and encountered Delilah and Patti sitting in the living room.
He had just greeted Patti when Patti beckoned him closer. โWhat did you do to Josie?โ
โWhat did she say?โ Sean looked visibly anxious, afraid that Josie might ignore him from now on.
Patti shook her head and said, โShe didnโt say much. Just said she wanted to make you hangover soup. But she looked flustered, and her face was all red. Tell me honestly, did you drink and take advantage of that girl?โ
โNo!โ Sean stood up and walked towards the kitchen. โIโll go check on her.โ
Delilah exchanged a glance with Patti and asked, โIs there a chance?โ
โI think so!โ Patti looked very happy. โBefore Eleanor comes back, finalize taking her as your disciple. Donโt let her beat you to it.โ
Delilah was somewhat concerned, โBack then, Eleanor was eager to enter the Reedshaw family attic. At such a critical moment, do you really want me to take Josie as my disciple?โ
โYou think Mr. Longley sent her here for the Reedshaw attic?โ Patti tapped Delilah. โYouโฆ youโre just too single-minded. Thankfully, Claire didnโt take after you!โ
Delilah pursed her lips. โIt would be better if she did!โ
Kitchen.
Sean pushed open the door. โJosie?โ
โItโฆ itโll be ready soon!โ Josieโs hands stilled. She turned and walked to Sean. โGo back to your room first. Iโll bring it up to you in a moment.โ
After she finished speaking, Sean leaned against the door, watching her with a faint smile and showing no intention of leaving.
She nervously lowered her head, her fingers twisting the edge of her skirt at her waist. โJust nowโฆ I didnโt mean to.โ
โWhat?โ Sean suddenly moved closer.
