Before the waiter could serve the wine, Elliot, who heard the commotion, came over.
“You rascal, didn’t you say you weren’t coming?” Elliot glared at Sean, then turned his gaze to Josie. “And you dragged Josie here? Aren’t you afraid of scaring her?”
Josie quickly explained, “Elliot, I am here to find someone!” She swept her gaze back and forth over Elliot. From the perspective of traditional medicine, judging solely by his complexion, he did not appear to be ill. Good, she could relax for now.
Just as she reached this conclusion, someone approached. “Mr. Reedshaw, who are these two? Aren’t you going to introduce them?”
“Sean, my nephew. Recently helping out at the company,” Elliot said, pointing at Sean. Then he looked at Josie. “This is Josie, Sean’s junior, and the prized student of Professor Delilah!”
“So it’s Sean. Indeed, seeing you in person surpasses all the praise I have heard.” The man handed a glass of wine to Sean, looking at him with an insincere smile. “I heard you have inherited Leo’s true skills, that the Reedshaw acupuncture techniques are miraculous. When will you let me experience them?”
Those in the know about the incident over twenty years ago understood that Leo’s techniques were taboo, not to be mentioned lightly. This man was not young; he clearly knew this. Yet he brought it up anyway.
Sean looked at Elliot and asked, “Elliot, who is this?”
“Thomas, the third heir of the Brown family, and the younger brother of the current head of the Brown Group. He is responsible for operating several hospitals under the Brown Group.”
So they were from the Brown family. No wonder.
Sean smiled. “Oh, so you are Thomas. I truly haven’t heard of you. But since you manage the Brown family’s hospitals, surely you can cure your own illness?”
“You…“. Thomas was so furious that he could not utter a single word before Josie interrupted him.
She said, “If you really can’t cure it, you could always choose to come to Reedshaw Traditional Medicine Hospital. ‘Who is she? How does she know I can’t sleep, have no appetite, and frequently get up at night?’ Thomas was so astonished that he even forgot to be angry; only after coming back to his senses did his expression turn cold.
He said, “Mr. Reedshaw, your junior is truly impressive. Isn’t she too young? Has she forgotten the incident back then? Using the Reedshaw Acupuncture Techniques to treat illnesses? I think she’s delusional!”
“What if you kill me with your treatment?” Thomas let out a cold snort and laughed. “I will pass on your Reedshaw Acupuncture Techniques.”
