“Allison, Elliot has many secrets. Do not act rashly or let yourself get hurt.”
Allison laughed it off. “All right, I understand. You are younger than me, so there is no need to act like an adult in front of me. Rest assured, I know my limits and will not behave inappropriately. I am simply worried about him. I worry that if he develops health problems, he may not pay enough attention to them. Since you are close to the Reedshaw family, I thought you might be able to, in a roundabout way, get everyone to show some concern for him. In any case, whether I can stay at Reedshaw Group and remain in Aloville through my internship still depends entirely on him.”
Her statement sounded perfectly reasonable, but could not withstand scrutiny. Josie felt somewhat frustrated and did not know how to advise her. Emotional matters were, after all, the most complex in this world.
Although Elliot was over forty, he took good care of himself and had worked out for many years. If he claimed to be just over thirty, people would believe it. Josie watched Allison walking ahead, feeling anxious yet powerless. She thought, ‘Allison seems determined to face the hardship of love.’
Upon returning to the dormitory, Zoey and Adeline were both present. Zoey was packing her belongings, saying that she wanted to move out for the sake of work. This semester was about to end. Next academic year, everyone would have almost no classes, so they just needed to come back when the graduation exam took place. Zoey would not pursue graduate studies and had already decided to start a business with Colby. Allison had also chosen not to pursue graduate studies and now probably only wanted to stay at Reedshaw Group.
It was confirmed that both Josie and Adeline would take the postgraduate entrance examination. However, this matter was not urgent. After all, there was still a year left.

Adeline said, “Josie is this year’s department beauty. Natalie got bumped out, all because of that photo of you two at last semester’s campus competition award ceremony. Those who voted for her last year are now leaving comments saying they must have been blind. I’ve been so busy lately that I didn’t have time to vote, but it’s clear that Josie is truly beautiful. Everyone can see that.”
Then Josie’s three dormmates scrambled to rub her face. They said the more they rubbed her face, the prettier and cuter it would become.
Josie, unconvinced, pointed at Zoey and shouted, “Why don’t you rub Zoey’s face? After all, she’s the campus belle.”
Adeline said, “Exactly, she’s already the campus beauty. Why bother tweaking her to make her even prettier? You, on the other hand, still have room to improve.”
Josie thought, “That makes so much sense!”
She ran and hid, convinced that she would ultimately be unable to escape their grasp and would inevitably be subjected to their torment. Then, a phone call saved her life.
The call was from Sean. He asked whether she had returned to school and said that Delilah wanted to see her. Josie did not dare to delay. She took her bag and ran out of the dormitory. As she left the dormitory and had yet to reach the teaching building, she unexpectedly ran into Kenneth.
