Chapter 266
Josie hurried to the university with Sean before she could figure out the reason for her hospitalization.
At the Academic Affairs Office, Josie found Zoey pacing up and down in the corridor.
“Zoey?” She stopped before Zoey and caught her breath.
Zoey seemed moved. “Sorry for the trouble caused. I called you over to clear Colby’s name.”
“What happened?” Josie was completely lost.
Colby had gotten a call from the Academic Affairs Office before he, as planned, went to his new company with Zoey.
The Academic Affairs Office had requested something because Colby was accused of having cheated on the examinations.
The surveillance videos during the examinations could solve the problem, but the whistleblower insisted that Colby had gotten the test information in advance.
Colby was questioned by the Academic Affairs Office because he had outshone Aiden this time.
Hearing this, Josie was amused. “The troublemaker is David or his student. Am I right?”
This farce had happened, but it was about Jaden instead of Colby or Aiden.
Thanks to Josie’s help, Jaden hadn’t failed the exams last time, though his performance was poor anyway.
The reason for his current failure was Tina, whom Natalie had deliberately set him up with.
Natalie spared no effort to play up to her teammates after she joined them.
To keep up with the pace of studying, Josie went toe to toe with Natalie. In the end, she was disliked by others and later isolated. In retrospect, she found herself silly.
She decisively left her team when she was given a second chance. Therefore, Tina got acquainted with Jaden in advance, and Jaden failed the exams due to the lack of Josie’s help.
Vain and selfish, David must have given up on Jaden. He didn’t kick Jaden out of his team because of the investment from the Monroe family.
He would never give up on Aiden, no matter what happened.
In the past, Aiden was always the top student. For the sake of Zoey, Josie now wanted to expose Aiden’s hypocrisy.
It was reasonable for Josie to help Colby because he was in the same major as Aiden.
Thanks to her previous discussions with Aiden, she had a rough idea about the coming exams and gave Colby effective help.
Colby was smart, and he wanted to outshine Aiden for the sake of Zoey. With Josie’s help, he worked harder.
After his ambition had come true, his academic performance got questioned by David and Aiden.
Right then, the door of the Academic Affairs Office opened.
“Josie?” Colby seemed surprised to see Josie there. “Did Zoey tell you?”
“Yes!” Josie glanced into the office. “Why did they say that? They don’t trust you, do they?”
Colby smiled. “My professor is inside. Come on in!” Josie pulled Zoey into the office.
After one glance at Josie and Zoey, Aiden said, “Mr. Shepherd, this mess has nothing to do with them, so could you please ask them to leave?”
“They are not outsiders.” Colby instantly pulled a straight face and gave Aiden a cold look. “Didn’t you tell me to prove my innocence? It is outrageous, and I don’t want to waste my time on it.
“Besides, my professor said that I didn’t have to. It is you who should find the evidence to support your accusation. Because of Josie’s arrival, I changed my mind.”
After a sneer, Colby said, “Professor Hacker, didn’t you ask me about those documents? They came from Josie. Josie personalized the study plans for her friends, so all of us made progress. Mine is great.”
He suddenly raised his chin, and there was conspicuous pride on his handsome face. His beautiful eyes fixed on Zoey.
“Come on! Get out of my way,” Colby’s professor shouted. She was interesting. She pushed Colby aside and dashed to Josie.
“Josie, I am Daisy Hacker. I study cytology. Thanks to Edwin’s recommendation, I had the honor of reading your papers. They are awesome. Well, do you have a plan for postgraduate studies?”
“What do you think of me being your mentor?” Daisy was quite humble. “You have my word that I am fair to all my students. Bullying is intolerable to me. Ask Colby if you don’t believe my words.
“You will take all the credit for your achievements. No impostors. I will teach you whatever I know. So, what do you say?”
Her ingratiation made David frown. “We are talking about the cheating. Focus, Professor Hacker,” David said.
Daisy waved her hand aggressively. “What cheating? Show me the evidence if you have any. I have a lot on my plate, but you dragged me here for nonsense. Well, is the first place your student’s personal possession? Can’t my student get it?”
“Yeah, why can’t Colby?” Josie smiled at David. “Mr. Lawson, do you really think that only your students can get first place and that you are the best professor at this university? Come on!”
Her tone was lively, and her questions brought silence to the office. Even Isaiah gasped with shock.
He thought, ‘Josie seems determined to challenge David. Everyone shared the same doubts with her, but nobody had the guts to ask David. She must be out of mind. To go against David? I wish her luck!’
At the same time, he couldn’t help but wonder about the reason for Josie’s hatred against David.
David was irritated. “Did I ask for your opinions? I am talking to Professor Hacker. Do you know anything about respect? What did your professor teach you?”
“My last mentor was too busy to teach me how to respect others.” Josie sneered. “He cared about nothing but his students’ academic performance. The poor students can’t be his students. Mr. Lawson, aren’t you clear about that?”
Instantly, Daisy burst into laughter. “I agree. He gets the best students each year, and academic performance is his only criterion. He doesn’t mind bullying at all.
“Because of bullying, a poor girl became skinny. Fortunately, she was brave and tough enough to survive the tragedy, or she would have died before her graduation. Mr. Shepherd, are people like him qualified to be teachers?”
