Chapter 251

Jeremy smiled calmly and walked with her to the front of the car.

"I hope I haven't embarrassed myself before you, Ms. Kinberg. Since you are curious, please feel free to take an open and thorough look as much as you like. Everyone else, please remain where you are and let Ms. Kinberg inspect our equipment first."

As he finished his words, the unloading worker pulled open the rain tarp covering the equipment. A series of brand-new devices, entirely different from those belonging to Audrey and her team, was revealed to the public.

"This isโ€ฆ" Audrey stepped forward and took a closer look at the equipment. None of the devices resembled theirs. Given that their equipment was already among the most advanced available, Audrey naturally believed these pieces of equipment before her were inferior to theirs.

A trace of pride flashed across her face. "Professor Wilcourt, our institute isnโ€™t lacking in equipment. Why must you insist on bringing back a pile of worthless junk from abroad?"

"Hmm!" Jeremy, who has always maintained a low profile, saw that she didnโ€™t recognize the machine model and had no intention of arguing with her. Since the research had yet to begin, no one could say what would happen. He did not wish to engage in pointless arguments with her. Instead, he faintly smiled and said, "If you say itโ€™s worthless scrap, so be it. Please unload the goods."

"What is worthless scrap?" Suddenly, a foreigner speaking a halting country language emerged from the front of the vehicle, staring at the group in confusion.

Lindsey snickered aloud. She had just wanted to speak, but was helplessly stopped by Josie.

Josie told her, "Thereโ€™s no need to engage in pointless arguments. Itโ€™s a good thing if they think our equipment is inferior."

Lindsey thought about it and realized it made sense. It was playing dumb to outsmart others, and she could prove her abilities when it came to doing the research.

Unfortunately, someone did not indulge Audrey, the fool. Josie had not expected Sven would also come to Aloville this time. Sven was in the car the whole time, so none of them noticed him. At that moment, Josie wanted to step forward to stop him, but it was already too late. Sven stuffed a business card and a device information sheet into Audreyโ€™s arms.

"This final batch of equipment represents our companyโ€™s latest research. Compared to the previous batch, it offers more comprehensive functionality and a shorter experimental cycle. Most importantly, it integrates the capabilities of several types of equipment into a single unit."

Sven spoke his native language. Audrey, having spent several years abroad, could fully understand him. Her entire face turned as pale as paper.

"What did you say? Could you repeat it?" Audrey suddenly grabbed Svenโ€™s arm and stared at him in disbelief.

Sven assumed she could not understand the language of his country, so he had no choice but to slow down his speech.

"I stated that the equipment of this vehicle is an upgraded version of the equipment of the previous vehicle. It represents our companyโ€™s latest research and has only been on the market for three months, receiving a very positive response. Purchasing this equipment is actually more cost-effective than buying the two previous pieces of equipment, and it will also provide higher efficiency."

Audreyโ€™s legs suddenly gave way. If Jaden had not caught her in time, she would have suffered a major embarrassment.

"Impossible. Absolutely impossible," said Audrey. "David obviously said itโ€™s only the equipment we require that is world-leadingโ€ฆ"

Josie thought, โ€˜Listen to the nonsense sheโ€™s spouting. Even now, sheโ€™s still being so stubborn. Doesnโ€™t she realize it makes her look even more ignorant? As the vice director of a research institute, how can she be so unfamiliar with the market for research equipment? She doesnโ€™t even know about machines that have been on the market for several months. What does that say?โ€™

Josie looked at Audreyโ€™s bloodless face and felt a cathartic pleasure.

โ€˜Indeed, watching someone I dislike make a fool of herself is truly satisfying, especially when I have someone by my side offering miraculous assistance!โ€™ thought Josie again.

"Do you believe everything he says? You are far too casual in your role as the vice director," said Lindsey, looking at Audrey with undisguised mockery, clearly unwilling to show any respect.

"Sven, Iโ€™m Lindsey Clem. We previously spoke on the phone. It is a pleasure to meet you."
