Chapter 205
โJosie!โ Natalie gasped. She never expected to run into Josie at that moment.
She quickly lowered her head and inspected her clothes. โFortunately, itโs winter, and Iโm wearing several layers. She canโt see anything,โ she thought.
She then turned her head again to look at Kyle beside her. Kyle looked embarrassed, his expression somewhat awkward.
This made Natalie feel a little uncomfortable. Although she didnโt want Josie to misunderstand her relationship with Kyle, she was upset about Kyleโs behavior. It felt as if he was ashamed of being with her.
โWhatโs the matter? Did running into Josie while you were with me make you feel ashamed?โ Natalie kicked Kyle, turned around, and then walked to the roadside to hail a taxi.
Kyle nodded to Josie, then turned around and quickly followed Natalie. The two tugged at each other a couple of times, but in the end, they still got into the same car.
โLetโs go!โ Josie expressionlessly withdrew her gaze and turned around to get into the car.
Sean leaned over to fasten her seatbelt and asked, โWould you like to listen to a song?โ
โOkay,โ Josie said, smiling, and turned to look out the car window.
Aloville was a leading city in the country. Without exception, every recent graduate in Aloville wanted to stay in the city to develop their career.
In her previous life, Kyle successfully graduated with a masterโs degree, and through Davidโs connections, he entered the Central Research Institute. To gain a foothold, he went to great lengths, even going so far as to sell his own body.
Back then, Josie had often run into him when he left Audreyโs office. She usually stayed late to supervise experiments and would frequently hear flirtatious sounds from the office after he went in.
They were all adults, and it wasnโt hard to guess what happened inside.
In this life, Kyle was compelled to leave school mid-way due to Natalieโs manipulation. To avoid being implicated, Natalie must have promised Kyle certain benefits.
Given Kyleโs temperament, his primary intention is simply to have Natalie help him remain in Aloville. Beyond that, he would likely marry Natalie and become a permanent resident of Aloville.
However, since Natalie had wholeheartedly wanted to marry Aiden, it was unlikely that Kyleโs wishes would be fulfilled. As a result, there would likely be considerable entanglement between the two.
Based on what Josie had just seen, Kyle had already taken action against Natalie. However, it was hard to say if Natalie would compromise.
Josie looked emotional. Thinking of Kyleโs relationship with Audrey in her previous life, and now with Natalie, she couldnโt help but feel somewhat disgusted.
When getting out of the car, Sean noticed her displeased expression and assumed it was due to Kyle.
He said, โThe news of his being expelled hasnโt spread yet, and he can still get a job in Aloville. If you donโt want to see him again, Iโll go andโฆโ
โNo need,โ Josie shook her head and said. โDonโt waste your resources on such people. Even if it requires little effort, donโt do it, because it is not worth it.โ
If Audrey were determined to offer Kyle a position, they would be unable to stop it. Moreover, Josie didnโt intend to completely deal with Kyle.
They were a team, bound together in both success and failure; simply expelling him was far from sufficient punishment.
โI had died in prison in my previous life!โ she thought.
Josie looked at Sean and said, โTomorrow, Iโll list out the equipment required for the experiment and pass it to you. Please donโt discuss pricing with Sven yet; wait til the quantity of equipment is confirmed, as this will facilitate negotiations for a discount.โ
โYou know so much?โ Sean was somewhat surprised. He raised his hand and placed his palm on her head. โTell me, what else do you know? Is there an even greater surprise waiting for me?โ
Josie smiled and said, โYou can ask Colbyโs aunt for help with this matter. At the medical conference the year before last, I saw her communicating with representatives from foreign medical equipment companies.โ
The Clem family was surely familiar with equipment pricing. Although she had the suppliersโ contact information, she lacked experience in purchases and sales. Having an intermediary would ease bargaining over prices.
โAny savings for the Reedshaw family, no matter how small, are worthwhile,โ she thought.
