Chapter 170
After considerable effort, Josie managed to drag Adeline back to the dormitory. As soon as they entered, she collapsed onto the bed from exhaustion.
โWhere did you all go for dinner? How did Adeline end up this drunk?โ Zoey and Allison came over to assist Adeline onto the bed.
Josie lay in bed, gasping for breath, โAt the restaurant we dined together the last timeโthe one next to the school! Adeline was probably in a good mood. Joseph was also present, so she ended up drinking a few more glasses.โ
โOh yeah, we were together with two other people from Josephโs team. They said that their project has already established an intention to cooperate with the Central Research Institute, and the contract will be signed soon,โ Josie continued.
Josie suddenly offered, โZoey, since you have been assisting with our project for some time, would you consider joining Adeline for an internship with Delilah?โ
Zoey was momentarily stunned, a trace of panic flickering across her face. โNโno, I donโt think so. Iโve already secured an internship placement.โ
โHuh?โ Josie sat up, her face filled with surprise.
In her previous life, Josie remembered that Zoey had tried every possible means to enter the Central Research Institute to attract Aidenโs attention. When that did not succeed, Zoey went for an interview at the Brown familyโs hospital.
โCould it be that Zoey has gone to the Brown family hospital again?โ Josie wondered.
Josie frowned slightly. โWhen did this happen? Why didnโt you tell us anything about it?โ
โThis afternoon, when you were not in the dormitory, Colby personally came down,โ Allison said with a smile as she approached. โItโs not that she did not want to tell us. She just hasnโt had the chance yet. Please donโt blame her!โ
Upon hearing that Colby was also involved, Josie felt her worries ease slightly. โIs it an internship at the Clem familyโs company?โ
Josie remembers that the Clem family started out in foreign trade and has now gained a reputation in Aloville. It seems that it was only in recent years, when they wanted to enter the medical field, that they had Colby study medicine.
She remembers reading about this on the news while in prison in her previous life.
Back then, Colby did not follow his familyโs wishes to enter a business related to medicine. Instead, he had started his own venture and established an information technology company.
Josie knew that Colby had used Al to resurrect Zoey after she had an accident, but did not know what happened after that.
Zoey shook her head. โNo, Colby wants to start his own business and asked me to help with some miscellaneous tasks. I wasnโt particularly passionate about my own major to begin with, so I agreed.โ
โThis is good.โ Josie smiled broadly. โStarting a business will certainly keep you busy. If you need anything, do not hesitate to ask.โ
If things keep going the way it is, Zoey is unlikely to have time to think about Aiden anymore. And if the saying that affection grows over time is true, sparks may even fly between Zoey and Colby.
Moreover, it is obvious that Colby likes Zoey and insists on keeping her by his side. There was no way Colby would let Zoey run away again. If he did, then Josie could only say that heโs useless.
Josie was lost in a stream of miscellaneous thoughts when Zoey interrupted her. โRest assured, I certainly wonโt be afraid to ask for help if I need it. I wonโt be able to assist you guys, though. You will not hold this against me, will you?โ
Josie shook her head. โNot at all. As long as you are happy, anything is fine.โ
โExactly, exactly. Even though we all studied medicine, not everyone can find a job in their field after graduation. I donโt plan to work in a hospital.โ Allison handed out her rรฉsumรฉ.
Allison then asked, โCan you guys take a look at my resume and tell me if itโs good enough for an interview at a pharmaceutical company?โ
Josie glanced at her resume and said, โI recall that there will be an onโcampus recruitment. You can try then. Even for internships, you shouldnโt just join any company.โ
After she finished speaking, she stood up, took paper and pen, and wrote down the names of several companies. โI am not familiar with other companies, but I hope you donโt go to these companies.โ
Allison glanced over and asked, โThese are all prominent pharmaceutical companies in Aloville. Why donโt you recommend that I go to them?โ
