Chapter 144

โ€œJosie, sweetheart?โ€ Jeremy saw Josie looking around at the entrance of the hospital and strode over. โ€œWhatโ€™s wrong? What are you looking at?โ€

Josie shook her head. โ€œItโ€™s nothing. Perhaps I was mistaken. Jeremy, are you here to participate in the second consultation today?โ€

โ€œWell, the patientโ€™s condition is unusual, and surgical intervention is imperative. If traditional medicine can be integrated to alleviate his suffering, I do not mind making several additional visits.โ€

Jeremy walked ahead with his hands behind his back, while Josie jogged to catch up. The two walked side by side, heading inside as they talked about todayโ€™s consultation.

They were unaware that the entire scene had been captured by a camera positioned nearby.

Upon entering the meeting room, Delilah, Claire, and several others were already present. There was also one face that took Josie by surprise: Joseph.

Upon seeing her, Joseph raised his hand and said, โ€œProfessor Jeremy noted that while my clinical experience is limited, my theoretical knowledge is sufficiently comprehensive, so he invited me to join and listen as well.โ€

โ€œSee? I told you weโ€™d be able to work together.โ€ Josie turned to the side to take off her backpack and noticed that Sean had not yet arrived.

She glanced to her left and right.

โ€œHe is outside making a phone call. Go and call him. The meeting is about to begin,โ€ Delilah pointed outside the corridor.

Josie stood up and walked out into the corridor.

As she approached, she heard Sean growling on the phone. โ€œWhat do you mean? Are you suggesting that I sell all my companies in the country and go abroad with you? Have you considered that this is where the Reedshaw familyโ€™s roots are? With Grandmother and Aunt both present, the legacy of the Reedshaw family must not end with me. I will never comply with your wishes. Donโ€™t even think about it.โ€

โ€œDo not listen to what is improper.โ€ Josie felt somewhat embarrassed and turned to leave, but was stopped by Sean.

Sean raised his hand and grabbed her wrist; the phone call had not been disconnected.

โ€œDonโ€™t bring this up again, or donโ€™t blame me if I act like I donโ€™t know you.โ€

Only after finishing his sentence did he hang up.

Josie looked apologetic. โ€œI am sorry. I did not mean to overhear your call. The teacher said the meeting is about to begin and asked me to come and get you.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s nothing I canโ€™t say!โ€ Sean let go of her hand. โ€œItโ€™s my father. He wants me to give up the Reedshaw family and go abroad with him!โ€

Josie suddenly lifted her head.

She recalled that in her previous life, the Reedshaw Group was acquired by the Brown family.

Presumably at that time, Sean followed his fatherโ€™s advice, sold the company, and went abroad.

โ€œIf he keeps making such requests of you, are you able to continue refusing?โ€ Josie was somewhat nervous.

Sean shook his head. โ€œI donโ€™t know. I promised my grandfather that I would carry forward and develop the Reedshaw familyโ€™s medical tradition. If I fail to do so, perhaps I willโ€ฆโ€

โ€œNo, you can do it! Sean, I will diligently study the Reedshaw familyโ€™s acupuncture techniques. I can carry forward the Reedshaw familyโ€™s medical legacy. I mean it. Please donโ€™t give up so easily, okay?โ€ Josie grabbed his hand anxiously.

Sean looked at her hands with pale fingertips tightly gripping his own wrist, and for no apparent reason, his heart softened. โ€œI promised my grandfather that I would never give up unless absolutely necessary.โ€

He raised his hand and gently patted Josie on the head.

โ€œThank you. However, as a member of the Reedshaw family, it is my duty to carry forward our familyโ€™s medical tradition. I cannot let you take on this responsibility, unlessโ€ฆโ€

Josie looked up at him, unsure why he had suddenly fallen silent. โ€˜Unless what?โ€™

โ€œItโ€™s nothing!โ€ Sean smiled and ruffled Josieโ€™s hair. โ€œCome on, letโ€™s go inside.โ€

After finishing his remarks, he turned and entered the conference room.

Josie breathed a sigh of relief.

If Sean were to relinquish the Reedshaw family, the Brown family would become Alovilleโ€™s number one medical family. At that time, all resources of the Brown family would be at Natalieโ€™s disposal.

Currently, although her departure had brought certain changes, she couldnโ€™t alter Natalie, nor could she change Aiden and the others.

Based on her understanding of Natalie, she knows that Natalie will go to any length to secure her status and position, with Audrey working behind the scenes to make all this happen.

She wanted to stop Natalie. In addition to continuously making herself stronger, she must also have a team capable of rivaling Aiden and his peers. Everything from medical technology to the financial support behind it was indispensable.
