“You have to believe me, it’s not like that,” Sofia added. “Where are you now?” Richard asked. “Yorathia,” Sofia replied. “Run so far away?”

“You know that Luca stole so much stuff from me. I finally caught up with her, I have to get my things back.” Speaking of Luca, Sofia fumed. That bandit had taken so many of her things since they were kids, both openly and secretly. She couldn’t understand what she had done in her past life to deserve this shameless woman who always caused her trouble.

Richard said, “The person from the other night was me. Do you hear me clearly? Don’t go looking for anyone to settle the score anymore, okay?” Sofia paused. The air on the phone fell silent. Sofia felt like the air around her had also quieted down, her mind spinning, thinking, ‘Richard said… it was him? Was this… possible?’

“You… You dare?” She asked uncertainly, still extremely unsure. Richard’s tone deepened. “What do you think?” Sofia’s mind went numb, then she took several deep breaths. “Well, you don’t have to do this.” Richard felt confused.

“What is that Dan? He deserves to be beaten to death, you don’t have to cover for him.” Sofia said as she was thinking, ‘Could it be that Richard was worried that she would really kill Dan? That didn’t make sense. How could someone like Richard have such a worry?’ Richard froze, his breath catching.

“Oh, forget it. I’m done talking to you. After I get my things back from Luca, I’ll get back to you. Consider it compensation,” Sofia said.
