Chapter 647

The Casalini familyโ€™s lively atmosphere finally ended at three in the morning. After Sofia left, the exhausted family looked as awful as if they had swallowed a fly. It didnโ€™t seem like they had dealt with just one woman; it felt more like an entire army.

Matthew stood up with a groan, looking every bit his age. โ€œThat rebellious child!โ€

Once he left, Mona exchanged a look with Adrian. โ€œThat bastard Richard, doesnโ€™t he like that adopted daughter from the Giovanni family? Why did he marry this little devil?โ€ Adrian said through gritted teeth.

Indeed, in their minds, Sofia was a little devil. She had a bad temper, but her status made her untouchable. Monaโ€™s eyes darkened as she glanced at the nail polish Sofia had smashed on the table. โ€œI thought heโ€™d stay put in Paginara. I knew he wouldnโ€™t come back without a plan.โ€ Her words were spoken as if she wanted to swallow Richard whole.

โ€œHe married that witch Sofia, clearly wanting to take over the entire Casalini family,โ€ Adrian said. To them, this wasnโ€™t sharing; it was a complete takeover. โ€œAs if harming Valentina wasnโ€™t enough, now he wants toโ€ฆโ€ Mona trailed off, her eyes filled with malice.

โ€œThis is just the beginning,โ€ Adrian stated. Sofiaโ€™s return tonight was just the beginning. And Matthew actually gave her everything on that list. In the middle of the night, she took so much money from them! Itโ€™s like she plucked every feather from an eagle.

Adrian was angry. All these years, whenever Adrian spent a little extra, Matthew would get upset and call him a prodigal. But then, Richard married a random woman, and she asked for so much money, and he only complained a little.

While Mona and Adrian were fuming inside, Sofia walked out of the Casalini residence, her spirits high. Richard was waiting for her outside. Seeing her get into the car, Richard asked, โ€œWhy so long?โ€

โ€œThey were hesitant to give me such a large amount, so it took some time.โ€ Sofia was exhausted, but the thought of suddenly having so much money made her feel extremely happy.

Richard asked, โ€œHow much did you ask for?โ€

โ€œI got everything back that was in the account book you gave me,โ€ Sofia said proudly. She had been angry about marrying Richard that day, and her heart had been heavy. At that moment, the weight had finally been lifted, and she felt much more at ease.

Richard was shocked when he heard Sofia say that she got everything back. โ€œThey gave you everything?โ€ They should know that the account book had already been settled three years ago. Originally, he just wanted Sofia to go back and make a scene. He didnโ€™t really want her to come back.

Sofia nodded. โ€œOf course. You werenโ€™t there. You didnโ€™t count how many times I called him โ€˜Dad.โ€™ Was I calling him โ€˜Dadโ€™ for nothing?โ€

Richard faltered. โ€œYouโ€ฆyou called him โ€˜Dadโ€™?โ€ His tone turned cold.

Sofia retorted, โ€œYeah, I called him โ€˜Dad.โ€™ Why else would he give me so much money? Because Iโ€™m cute?โ€ Sofia knew exactly what Richard meant with his icy tone. He was hypocritical. If he had the guts, he should just cut off all ties with the Casalini family. She thought, โ€˜What is the point of this petty revenge?โ€™ He made her go back and pester them, but he wouldnโ€™t let her call Matthew โ€œDad.โ€

Richard narrowed his eyes, his voice cold and resolute. โ€œYouโ€™re not allowed to call him that anymore.โ€

Sofia countered, โ€œThen I wonโ€™t go back.โ€ It wasnโ€™t a big deal. She could just refuse to go back. She didnโ€™t believe that Richard wanted her to go back to the Casalini residence tonight just for the money.
