Chapter 634

Sofia was interested in the topic. She believed the Ashford and Hart families had bullied Stephanie. Elliot felt awkward; he didn't want to discuss gossip. He told Sofia how Stephanie had hurt Olivia and Chris, and how Olivia, scared of the drama, had even run away overseas.

Sofia was shocked to learn Stephanie had held Olivia underwater and hit her. “Is that for real? Could Stefi really be that fierce?” she asked in disbelief.

Elliot confirmed, “It’s true. Olivia ended up in the hospital and was diagnosed with several illnesses.” This made Sofia wonder if Olivia would claim it was Stephanie’s fault.

Elliot added, “She couldn’t. She didn’t have any evidence to prove her illnesses were caused by Stephanie hitting her.” He mentioned Olivia’s plan to cause conflict between Stephanie and the Hart family. Sofia asked, “What’s so special about the Hart family?”

Elliot replied, “Stephanie said the same thing. Chris and Tyler were also badly hurt because of her.”

Sofia thought, “Thank goodness they were hurt badly; otherwise, I would have to throw more punches!” She had wanted to stand up for Stephanie, but was constantly hindered by harassment from Dan and Richard.

While they were talking, Sofia’s phone rang. She quickly rejected a call from Dan, whom she considered a nuisance. He kept calling, so she blocked his number. Then, she received a text from an unknown number asking if he should wait for her at her family’s entrance. Angered, she called the number back. Dan told her, “Divorce Richard. Do it right away.”

Sofia couldn’t believe her ears. “Have you lost your mind?” she exclaimed. Dan insisted he would be at the courthouse the next day at 10 AM. While others usually allowed three days, seven days, or even a month for a divorce, he gave her only one day.

Sofia realized how absurd the situation was. “What are you planning?” she asked, feeling confused. Dan said, “I want to see your divorce in person.”

Sofia thought, ‘Why did Dan feel the need to witness it? The divorce isn’t something he can decide.’ Given Richard’s current situation, if Dan kept meddling, Richard might end up hurting him.

Sofia said, “If you are still in the hospital, check if a neurologist is available. Anyone with clear thinking would never say such nonsense.”

Dan growled through gritted teeth, “Sofia!”

“Maybe you should also see a psychiatrist; you might need to be hospitalized for your mental health.” Sofia hung up decisively. She glanced at Elliot. “Sebastian investigated him, didn’t he?” Sebastian knew about this before her, so he must have done his homework.

Elliot nodded. Sofia asked, “Is his memory loss real?” Regarding Dan’s amnesia, Sofia was skeptical. Elliot paused before saying, “Dan’s amnesia is real. After leaving Fiorenza, he disappeared for six months, and we still don’t know where he went.” Although it was suggested he might have gone to the Myrendale, that idea was later rejected. So, Dan’s whereabouts during those six months remained a mystery. It didn’t seem like Dan’s arrival in Sofia’s life was a coincidence.

Sofia asked, “And what about his death?” Given his six-month disappearance, something shady must have been going on. Elliot replied, “From the information we have, Dan took a false death potion. We don’t know if he did it himself or if someone forced him.”

Sofia said, “It must have been his own doing; if he didn’t want to take it, who could have forced it on him?” Sofia thought, ‘What a scoundrel. His approach to me must have been very calculated. He even faked his death!’ “Liar.” The thought made her even angrier, and her curses became more intense.

When Elliot heard that, his eyes lit up. Sofia, fuming with anger, didn’t notice Elliot’s emotion. She said to herself, “Why didn’t I see through this scoundrel? Look at how well he pretended; he was much more skilled than spies. How could I be so misled by such a guy?”

Elliot listened to her insults in silence. When Stephanie emerged, she overheard Sofia ranting about Dan. Whenever Sofia could, she vented her frustrations about Richard and Dan, thinking both were awful. Seeing Stephanie, Sofia calmed down a bit. “Why are you alone? Where is Sebastian?”

“He has some matters to discuss with Josef privately,” Stephanie replied. Sofia took Stephanie’s hand, saying, “Let’s find a better place to talk.”
