Chapter 601

Sofiaโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief. โ€œHe doesnโ€™t even love me now,โ€ she pointed out, as if that should be obvious.

โ€œOnce he gets his memory back, wonโ€™t he just love you all over again?โ€ Richard scoffed. โ€œIโ€™m telling you, this marriage isnโ€™t ending. Iโ€™m going to drive Dan crazy.โ€

Sofia was shocked. Richardโ€™s voice rose, almost manic. โ€œAmnesia? Ha! Only a fool would believe that. Iโ€™ve seen plenty of guys who just donโ€™t want to take responsibility. When you love him, he couldnโ€™t care less. When he canโ€™t have you, he cries like a baby.โ€

Sofia, Stephanie, and Sebastian exchanged uneasy glances. Richard was clearly spiraling out of control.

Richard shouted, โ€œIโ€™m gonna make sure he cries and begs his whole life. Lost his memories? Cry for his loss then.โ€

His words were like a storm, relentless and chaotic. They could only watch as he ranted about Dan, his anger seemingly endless. Stephanieโ€™s lips twitched. Richardโ€™s tirade was so intense that it left no room for anyone else to speak.

Sofia, too, was bewildered. โ€œDidnโ€™t you hit him too? From what I heard, you really gave him a beating,โ€ she said, trying to make sense of the situation.

Danโ€™s men hit him, and he himself hit Dan. Back at the courthouse, Danโ€™s men punched him twice. But as for him, he beat Dan pretty badly. It really seemed fair.

Richardโ€™s expression turned even more livid. โ€œSo what if I did? I hit him on purpose! Iโ€™d take him down if I had to.โ€

Sofiaโ€™s mind reeled. This is getting out of hand, she thought. At this point, his attitude is almost as bad as actually hurting someone.

Sebastian, who had been silent all along, now cast a cold, piercing glance at Richard. โ€œAre you sure you want Sofia to get married right now?โ€ His tone was as sharp as a blade.

โ€œOf course,โ€ Richard retorted, his voice tinged with irritation. โ€œWho else would it be?โ€

Sebastianโ€™s eyes narrowed ever so slightly, like a predator assessing its prey. โ€œIf this marriage is just a way to get under Danโ€™s skin, Iโ€™d advise you to rethink it.โ€ His words hung in the air, heavy with meaning.

Richard was taken aback, his breath hitching.

โ€œDonโ€™t forget,โ€ Sebastian continued, his voice unwavering, โ€œthis marriage is bound to end in divorce. If youโ€™re even considering staying together, maybe you shouldnโ€™t go through with it.โ€

Stephanie and Sofia exchanged uneasy glances, both at a loss for words. Richardโ€™s breathing was still uneven, but he managed to nod, though it was clear he was doing so reluctantly.

Sebastian asked, โ€œUnderstand?โ€

Richard didnโ€™t want to respond to him. He looked at Sofia, with thoughts of his current troubles swirling in his mind. Taking several deep breaths, he finally managed to suppress his anger and reluctantly said, โ€œGot it.โ€

Sebastianโ€™s gaze softened slightly as he turned to Sofia. She shivered under his intense look, feeling a mix of unease and confusion. The more she thought about it, the more she questioned the idea of marrying Richard. It seemed like he needed this marriage for some hidden reason, but she couldnโ€™t shake the feeling that something was off.

โ€œSebastian, are you sure you want me to marry this jerk? Look at him, he seems like heโ€™s about to hit me any moment,โ€ she said, her voice trembling slightly.

Richardโ€™s eyes widened in indignation. โ€œWhen did I ever say I was going to hit you? Youโ€™ve been bothering me for days, donโ€™t you know?โ€ His voice rose, frustration evident in every word.

Sofia rolled her eyes. โ€œOh, come on, you hit me back, didnโ€™t you?โ€ She crossed her arms, feeling a mix of anger and confusion.

โ€œAt most, it was a mutual fight, and you still won anyway,โ€ Richard grumbled, his face turning red with frustration.

The word โ€œwonโ€ hung in the air, and Sofia fell silent. She knew he was right; she had caught him off guard each time, but he had never really lost. It was all so confusing, and she couldnโ€™t quite put her finger on what was really going on.

Stephanie couldnโ€™t stand the tension any longer. โ€œMaybe we should just let this goโ€ฆ,โ€ she suggested, her voice soft but firm.

โ€œStop. Shut your mouth. Just shut it,โ€ Richard cut her off sharply. In his mind, Stephanieโ€™s words would only sway Sebastian, and he couldnโ€™t afford to have his plans disrupted again.

Stephanie glared back, her eyes flashing with anger. โ€œYou shut up.โ€

Meanwhile, Sebastianโ€™s icy gaze returned to Richard, who felt a shiver run down his spine.

Richardโ€™s mind raced. โ€˜Look at those alike looks. What the hell is going on here? He got my fiancรฉe and now heโ€™s threatening me. How shameless.โ€™
