Sebastian chuckled, “What does our kid look like?”

Stephanie was surprised at his question and said, “Sofia was just saying she couldn’t notice anything clearly, so how can we know that?” Stephanie muttered inwardly, ‘Besides, it’s a genetic issue; our kid looks like either me or you, okay?’

Sebastian gently pinched her cheek and said, “I won’t be back for dinner tonight. Be good, okay?”

“Got it. Don’t worry,” Stephanie replied.

Having been away from Fiorenza for such a long time, Sebastian would surely be busy upon returning. Stephanie knew this, so she quietly sat aside. Seeing her so well-behaved, Sebastian kissed her forehead before he got up to leave with the examination report. Stephanie noticed him slipping the report into his pocket.

Sofia then came down the stairs and saw Stephanie sitting alone on the sofa, so she curiously asked, “Where’s Sebastian?”

“He went out,” Stephanie replied, popping another blackberry into her mouth.

Sofia asked surprisingly, “He’s still got time to go out now?” With Stephanie just confirmed pregnant, she thought Sebastian wouldn’t focus on anything else but her. After all, within the Giovanni family, Stephanie was known for being the least self-disciplined. Her routine was inconsistent, and she didn’t pay much attention to her diet, so she ended up in the hospital several times because of her eating habits.

Stephanie didn’t respond but rested against the back of the sofa, looking at Sofia on the stairs. “What did Sebastian just say to you?”

She was going to wait by the study door just now, but they kept talking and never came out. She then got hungry and decided not to wait any longer.

Upon hearing the matter in the study, Sofia’s expression turned sour. “Sebastian told me that Richard’s a good guy.”

Stephanie replied in disbelief, “What?” ‘A good guy? Was Sebastian serious when he said that?’ Stephanie wondered.

Sofia looked at Stephanie and asked, “Do you think he’s a good guy?”

“No,” Stephanie shook her head without hesitation.

However, Sofia added, “He is.”

Stephanie didn’t believe what she heard and wondered, ‘Wait, what’s up with everyone? It’s strange that Richard can be a welcome guest in the Giovanni residence. Now, Sebastian and Sofia both think Richard is a good guy?’

“You really think he’s a good guy too? Seriously, you guys…” stammered Stephanie.

Sofia said, “Stefi, we misunderstood him three years ago. We never gave him a chance to explain back then.”

However, things suddenly turned chaotic three years ago. Nobody could stay calm and listen to his explanation back then.

Stephanie asked, “What exactly happened back then?”

Sofia stated, “Richard saved Mom and me. A lot of Finn’s guys showed up the night he told you to leave the Giovanni residence. He even sent you a message from another phone. Didn’t you see it?”

Stephanie was confused and thought, Really? I didn’t notice anything at that time. Finn? Well, I see. He’s always been against our family, and Lancelot is on his side.

Stephanie said, “I swear I didn’t see any message. Are you serious? And what exactly did Valentina mean by that?”

“Did Richard mention Valentina to you back then?” asked Sofia.

“No, he didn’t.”

“So, what do you mean?”

“Valentina called me, saying Richard controlled you and Mom. She told me to leave the Giovanni residence right away!”

Sofia nodded. “Yeah, that makes sense now.”

As Richard wanted Stephanie to leave the Giovanni residence immediately and Valentina stirred up trouble, Stephanie naturally concluded that Richard had kidnapped her mom and Sofia to threaten her.

“That doesn’t make sense,” Stephanie added. “He said if I didn’t want you to end up dead, I should leave the Giovanni residence right away.”
