Chapter 501
Just moments ago, Yanis had left, and something about Allison seemed off. Usually, she was so bright and cheerful, but this time, it was different.
Macro glanced at Stephanie and said, โAre you really planning to take her to Fiorenza? Yanis probably wonโt agree that easily, right?โ If Yanis didnโt go along with it, leaving Long Harbor tonight was bound to stir up trouble.
Stephanie shook her head. โDidnโt Sebastian say heโd handle it?โ Whether Yanis agreed or not, all that mattered to Stephanie right now was Allison.
Macro nodded. โYouโre right. Thereโs nothing he canโt handle. For a second, he thought having Yanisโs lover around might be more trouble than it was worth.โ
โSebastian said heโll come pick you up later,โ he added.
โGot it.โ Stephanie nodded, then turned and walked into the hospital room to see Allison.
As soon as she stepped inside, her phone buzzed. It was Sebastian. โHey, Sebastian,โ she answered.
โIs there anything you want to bring back?โ Sebastian asked.
Stephanie shook her head. โNo. Just have someone tidy up the stuff in the study. Those were the gifts for her mom and Sofia. As for her own things, Stephanie had already decided she didnโt want to bring anything back from Long Harbor.โ Sebastian hummed in agreement. โTell Allison to get ready. Iโll come pick you all up for the airport soon.โ
Stephanie glanced out the window. It wasnโt early anymore. โWeโre leaving right away?โ
Sebastian chuckled softly. โYou beat up from being at the hospital? If you are, you should head home and crash. Weโve got time.โ
Stephanie shook her head. โNo need. Iโll wait for you here.โ With Allison in her current state, there was no way Stephanie was leaving.
โAlright,โ Sebastian said, his voice gentle.
They talked for a few more minutes before Stephanie hung up. A moment later, a nurse walked in, followed by staff pushing a bed.
โWhat are you doing?โ Stephanie asked, frowning. This was a VIP room. She didnโt think they had the right to just stick another bed in here and let someone else in.
The nurse glanced at her and replied calmly, โMs. Giovanni, this was arranged by our director. In case you get tired and want to rest here.โ
โBut thereโs a sofa here,โ Stephanie said. She knew Sebastian must have made the call if the director had arranged it. She wasnโt a kid anymore, yet he was still acting like he needed to take care of her.
The nurse smiled. โSleeping on the sofa wouldnโt be comfortable.โ She quickly found a spot for the bed and made it up with sheets and a blanket.
Stephanieโs eyes widened in appreciation of Sebastianโs thoughtfulness.
The nurse finished tidying up and said to Stephanie, โIf you need anything else, just buzz us with the call button.โ
โOkay,โ Stephanie nodded politely. โThanks.โ
โNo problem at all,โ the nurse replied, shaking her head before leaving the room with a respectful nod.
Stephanie looked at the neatly made bed and couldnโt help but think, โAm I really someone who needs to be taken care of now? He still treats me like Iโm a kid.โ
Allison glanced over. โI didnโt expect Mr. Giovanni to be so thoughtful.โ She shook her head. Based on the rumors, sheโd never guessed Sebastian was such a gentle guy.
Stephanie almost mentioned that Yanis had been just as attentive to Allison, but she kept quiet.
If Allison was so eager to leave, that meant something serious must have happened between them. And since Allison wasnโt talking about it, Stephanie wasnโt going to ask. She figured it was the best way to look out for Allison.
Still, remembering how Allisonโs eyes used to light up whenever she talked about Yanis, Stephanie couldnโt help but ask, โAre you really coming with me to Fiorenza?โ
As far as Stephanie could tell, there were only two reasons Allison might want to leave Long Harborโeither something major had gone wrong with Yanis, or she was just acting out of spite.
Deep down, Stephanie hoped it was the second one because she wanted Allison to be okay.
Allison nodded. โOf course. Thank you for this.โ
Stephanie just nodded back. โDonโt mention it.โ
