Sebastian nodded. Stephanie said, “I don’t feel uncomfortable. Why did you ask Allison to come over?”

“You haven’t had much appetite these past few days,” Sebastian replied.

Stephanie was speechless and thought, Just because I had a poor appetite, he wanted Allison to come over and check?

Sebastian asked, “How’s it going?”

Stephanie said, “Allison’s car drove into a ditch, but she’s already called for help.”

Sebastian felt shocked. “Alright, I won’t talk to you now. Come back soon.”

“Okay,” Stephanie hung up the phone. Her heart was still pounding.

Allison called and asked, “Stefi, what’s wrong? Tell me your symptoms so I can send some medicine.”

Stephanie felt confused. “And what about you? Did they manage to tow your car?”

Allison replied, “I’ve got something urgent to handle, so I can’t come over.”

Hearing Allison’s worried voice, Stephanie knew she had something urgent happening. “I’m fine here; don’t worry about me.”

Allison asked, “Didn’t Sebastian say you weren’t feeling well?”

“No, it’s just Sebastian worrying for nothing,” Stephanie replied. She thought, Probably I ate too much food recently and have no appetite now. It’s no big deal, but he still called a doctor.

Allison thought, Worrying for nothing? Is that okay? I worried so much that I got two cars stuck in the ditch today, and my car hasn’t been pulled out yet!

“Alright, I’ll head out.” Hearing that Stephanie was fine, Allison decided not to go to the Shallow Bay Area.

The two exchanged a few more words over the phone before hanging up. As Stephanie put down the phone, the butler said, “Ms. Giovanni, Mr. Hodge is here.”

“Let him in,” Stephanie said calmly. Stephanie was unsure what Jackson wanted from her. She had already told him everything she needed to.

Soon, Jackson came in. Seeing only Stephanie there, he was a bit taken aback. “Sebastian isn’t here?”

Stephanie asked, “Weren’t you here to see me? Why does it matter if Sebastian is here?”

Jackson replied, “It does matter.” He thought, Of course, it matters. I’m aware of Sebastian’s possessive nature, especially towards Stephanie. If I had known he wasn’t around, I wouldn’t have come.

Stephanie raised an eyebrow. “Why does it matter?”

Jackson replied, “It matters a lot.”

Stephanie was speechless and thought, If Sebastian isn’t here, is he too scared to come see me? So dramatic. “Maybe you should just leave then?” Stephanie asked with a playful tone.

Jackson thought, Leave? Now? “I’m already here. It’s cold outside. It wasn’t easy to get here.”

Jackson thought, “The road today is tough. If I hadn’t heard about the Garcia family’s situation, I wouldn’t have come.”

Sebastian is truly ruthless.

Jackson already knew about the clash between Mayra and Stephanie at the mall. To make things worse, Lilian was there. He wasn’t sure if Lilian was involved in the dispute.
