Chapter 477

On the other end of the line, Allison, looking at the two cars that had gone down together, said, โ€œYeah, it seems like we might need to.โ€ Given the current situation, even more vehicles might not be enough to pull the cars back up. โ€˜Sweat, what was I thinking, not realizing this sooner?โ€™ she thought.

โ€œIโ€™ll call for a rescue vehicle right away,โ€ Allison said.

Hearing this, Stephanie glanced outside again; the snow appeared to be falling even harder. โ€œWhy donโ€™t you come to Shallow Bay Area for now?โ€ she suggested. Since they were calling for a rescue, it was clear that her car wouldnโ€™t be retrieved anytime soon. Moreover, even if it were, she might not be able to drive it immediately.

โ€œHow am I supposed to get there? The car that came to tow mine is down there too,โ€ Allison replied, describing the rather dire scene.

โ€œIโ€™ll come pick you up,โ€ Stephanie offered.

โ€œIf your driving skills arenโ€™t up to par, you better not come. The roads are too slippery today,โ€ Allison warned, concerned for Stephanieโ€™s safety.

Stephanie responded, โ€œUnderestimating me, are you?โ€ Her driving skills were far from ordinary. Back when Sofia had taken her away for training, it hadnโ€™t been just about physical endurance. That month had involved much more, especially in terms of practical skillsโ€”skills for escaping, to be precise. Glancing at the icy landscape outside, Stephanie felt that she really needed to go there herself today.

โ€œIโ€™m not underestimating you; Iโ€™m just worried. The roads are all icy today,โ€ Allison reiterated.

โ€œWait there,โ€ Stephanie said, hanging up abruptly. With both cars down, Allison was probably standing by the roadside, shivering in the cold. Stephanie turned to the butler. โ€œArrange a car.โ€

โ€œIs Miss planning to drive herself? Thatโ€™s definitely not possible,โ€ the butler immediately objected.

Stephanie raised an eyebrow. โ€œWhat?โ€

Henry continued, โ€œMr. Giovanni wouldnโ€™t allow it. Let me send a car to pick up Dr. Pierce.โ€

Stephanie countered, โ€œAre you sure thereโ€™s a driver capable of handling these roads right now?โ€

The butler replied, โ€œThatโ€™s underestimating Mr. Giovanni, isnโ€™t it? What kind of talented individuals surround Mr. Giovanni? The previous incident was just an accident.โ€

Stephanie fell silent. He had a point. She was just worried about Allison. โ€˜What if Henry sent another driver who might have an accident?โ€™ As if reading her thoughts, Henry quickly added, โ€œMs. Giovanni, rest assured. Iโ€™ll make sure she gets here. You donโ€™t need to go.โ€ Without waiting for Stephanieโ€™s response, he hurried off to arrange the car to pick up Allison.

Sebastian wasnโ€™t around right now, and the butler didnโ€™t dare let Stephanie drive out in this weather. If something happened to her, Mr. Giovanni would surely come back and make them pay dearly.

Not long after the butler left, Sebastianโ€™s call came through. Stephanie answered, โ€œBrother.โ€

โ€œThe weather is bad today, you shouldnโ€™t go out,โ€ Sebastian said.

Stephanie fell silent. The butler was really quick with his mouth. It hadnโ€™t even been five minutes, and Sebastian had already called.

โ€œThis kind of road is a piece of cake for me,โ€ Stephanie grumbled.

โ€œStill not allowed,โ€ Sebastian replied firmly.

Stephanie sighed, โ€œOkay.โ€ If he said no, then no. Why be so serious? Besides, hadnโ€™t she lived just fine during the three years they were apart? Why did she seem like someone without the ability to take care of herself in front of him now?

โ€œBe a good girl and listen. Iโ€™ll bring you something yummy when I get back,โ€ Sebastian coaxed, his tone softening as he spoke to her, much like he would with a child.

Stephanie replied, โ€œThe one you brought me last night, I havenโ€™t eaten yet.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€

โ€œThen you bring me another one,โ€ Stephanie huffed. Last night, he had been drinking outside, and she had been so focused on taking care of him that she had completely forgotten about the chestnut cake. She didnโ€™t know how delicious that chestnut cake was, but it must have been really good if he had thought to bring it back for her.

โ€œToday itโ€™s something different,โ€ Sebastian said.

โ€œAlright then,โ€ Stephanie agreed. They exchanged a few more words before hanging up the phone. Sebastian was still the same as when Stephanie was a child. Every time he went out, he would bring her something delicious to eat, always treating her like a little kid with a sweet tooth.
