Chapter 475
Stephanie said, โYour driving skills! Alrightโฆ Iโll get someone to tow you out.โ
โHurry up, itโs freezing out here,โ Allison complained.
Todayโs Long Harbor was freezing, with snow falling again. This yearโs weather in the harbor city was strange, as the snow kept coming in waves. Although winters in previous years were cold, they had never been this severe with accumulating snow. Usually, it was just a few snowflakes, and then it was over.
Hearing Allisonโs words, Stephanie glanced outside and saw that there was indeed accumulated snow. โOkay,โ she said. โBut why is Allison coming to Shallow Bay Area? We havenโt made any plans to meet today,โ she pondered.
After hanging up the phone, Stephanie turned to Henry. โGet someone to tow Allisonโs car. Itโs stuck in a rut, and she canโt get out.โ
Henry nodded. โYes, Ms. Giovanni.โ He promptly sent someone to assist Allison.
Stephanie went to the dining room for breakfast, and the servant quickly brought her the meal, consisting of her usual favorites. The oatmeal was cooked very soft and mushy, but she really had no appetite for it. Lately, she just wasnโt feeling very hungry.
Warmth and coldnessโthese two extremes were playing out in Shallow Bay Area at the moment. After Stephanie casually inquired about Tyler, the conversation ended there. She simply didnโt care about the Hart family. This indifference was akin to the coldness they had once shown her. Stephanie was inside the cozy castle, while Tyler waited outside the gates of Shallow Bay Area. Even inside the car, he couldnโt escape the chill.
The driver returned and said, โSir, Ms. Giovanni will not see you.โ
Tyler fell silent. Hearing this, his heart sank even further. It was expected that Stephanie wouldnโt want to see him. The way the Hart family had treated her in the past was nothing compared to the coldness she was showing them now, which was ten times worse.
Tyler couldnโt help but close his eyes for a moment. โDid she have any message for me?โ
At this moment, Tyler desperately hoped that Stephanie would have something to say to him, even if it was just to scold him. A scolding would at least indicate some emotional response. But he was wrong. Stephanie had left him with nothing. Her attitude toward the Hart family was at its coldest, as if they didnโt exist in her world at all.
The driver shook his head. โNo, the person who answered the phone wasnโt Ms. Giovanni, but the butler of Shallow Bay Area.โ
Just a butler, Tyler thought. โSo when did it start that seeing Stephanie became so difficult for us? She is our blood relative. Why did we become so estranged?โ His heart was filled with sadness.
Tyler closed his eyes again, his whole body exuding a sense of instability. The driver hesitantly spoke up again. โShall we leave, sir?โ
Tyler opened his eyes, and at this moment, his gaze was sharp. โCall again and tell them I have something important to say.โ
The driver fell silent. It seemed unlikely that this would work. The driver had been with the Hart family for years and naturally knew how strained the relationship between the entire Hart family and Stephanie had been. They had hurt their own daughter so badly over a foster child. Now, with the matter of Catlin, it was clear that Stephanie wouldnโt care.
Inside the castle, when Henry received another call about Tyler, he became angry. โNext time thereโs anything about the Hart family, donโt bother informing me.โ Without even asking about the so-called important matter, he hung up the phone.
Stephanie, hearing Henryโs call, continued to eat quietly without saying a word. Clearly, the butlerโs response to the Hart family was satisfactory to her.
โMs. Giovanni,โ the butler approached.
Stephanie said, โThereโs no need to say anything.โ She knew it was Sebastianโs intention not to give the Hart family any hope. And she, naturally, wouldnโt offer them any hope either. She was not their savior.
