Chapter 456
Upon hearing that Lorenzo had been injured, Stephanie seemed to take it in stride. After a few words of concern, Ella changed the subject. โCatlin is probably going to jail now. I just checked the news carefully. Sheโs been charged with murder,โ Ella said.
โDid that woman die?โ Stephanie asked. She had been watching the news when Sebastian came back, so she hadnโt seen the rest. But since Catlin had been taken away in handcuffs by the police, she could tell that this incident was indeed serious.
โThe woman was taken to the hospital. There hasnโt been any follow-up yet. Itโs said that one of her children was also injured,โ Ella added.
Stephanie was somewhat surprised. When she had been at the Hart residence before, she had seen Catlin being so kind to Olivia and had thought she was a good person. But now, seeing that Catlin could actually harm a child, Stephanie no longer thought of her as kind.
Ella warned, โYou need to be careful. The Hart family is definitely going to come after you.โ
โCome after me?โ Stephanie wondered what the Hart family could possibly want with her. She thought to herself that maybe because she had Sebastian behind her, they wanted her to find a way to get Catlin out of trouble.
Ella said, โLet me tell you, the Hart family is very close-knit. They only see you as an outsider.โ
It was a bit of a harsh reminder, but Stephanie knew it was the truth. Among the entire Hart family, she was the only outsider.
โJust wait and see. Tyler is definitely going to come to you,โ Ella said.
The Hart family was now in disarray. While others might not, Tyler would definitely seek out Stephanie.
โIโll be back tomorrow,โ Stephanie said.
Ella asked in surprise, โReally?โ
โBarring any unforeseen circumstances, yes,โ Stephanie replied.
Hearing this, Ella felt a bit disappointed. After spending these few days with Lorenzo, she had realized that people around Stephanie seemed to easily run into trouble. Lorenzo had even been injured today.
Chapter 436
The two of them chatted on the phone for a good while before hanging up. By then, Ella had finished cooking apple oatmeal. This time, she had done a better job; the amount of water she added was just right.
As she brought the oatmeal into Lorenzoโs room, he was on a phone call. His loose robe concealed the bandage on his shoulder blade, but his powerful pectoral muscles were bare. It was then that Ella got a clear look at the tattoo that stretched from his neck down to his chest muscles.
The large tattoo looked dangerous, but at the same time, it gave off an inexplicable sense of security. Ella couldnโt help but swallow hard, feeling a strange warmth spreading through her body.
Hearing her movements, Lorenzo turned his head and glanced at Ella, then said into the phone, โNo need. Letโs make sure it never happens again.โ His tone was particularly menacing when he said the last part, which startled Ella.
Ella stepped forward with the oatmeal. โThe oatmeal is ready. Itโs still a bit hot; let it cool down a bit before you eat it.โ
Lorenzo watched the steam rising from the oatmeal on the small table. It seemed like the first time he had ever eaten in his room. No matter where he was or what kind of injury he had, he had never eaten in his room before.
Staring at the rising steam, Lorenzo was momentarily lost in thought.
Ella said, โIโll go out now.โ Seeing that Lorenzo didnโt respond, she didnโt dare to stay any longer.
Lorenzo frowned. โIs that all?โ
Ella was taken aback. โWhat?โ
Lorenzo asked, โIs there nothing else?โ
Ella didnโt know how to respond, because Lorenzo had never told her to prepare any other food. Besides, she only knew how to cook oatmeal and nothing else.
Lorenzo complained, โDo I need to spell it out for you?โ
Ella thought to herself, โOf course you need to tell me what you want to eat.โ But even if he told her, it wouldnโt make a difference, because she really couldnโt cook anything else.
Ella shook her head. โI donโt know how to cook anything else.โ
Lorenzo looked at her. โYou donโt?โ
