Chapter 348

In the Hart residence, Catlin watched as Ella hung up on Stephanie. Desperation washed over her, and she clung to Ellaโ€™s leg, refusing to let go. Right now, only Ella could get in touch with Stephanie.

โ€œMs. Turner, please, just let me speak to her. Iโ€™m begging you,โ€ Catlinโ€™s voice trembled with urgency.

Just moments ago, Olivia had spat up blood again, and her son Tylerโ€™s hollow gaze was like a dagger to her heart. She felt like she was losing her mind. She knew that one word from Stephanie could resolve all the troubles for Olivia and Tyler.

Ella scoffed, โ€œMrs. Hart, isnโ€™t this a bit undignified?โ€

Catlinโ€™s love for Olivia was overwhelmingโ€”she was willing to go to any lengths for her. She was truly at her witโ€™s end. The sight of Olivia coughing up blood, looking so frail, made her feel like she couldnโ€™t take it anymore. โ€œWe really need a doctor, Ms. Turner. Could you please talk to Stephanie on our behalf?โ€

The mention of needing a doctor sent Ella completely over the edge. A flash of disgust crossed her eyes, and she did exactly what Stephanie had advised: she kicked Catlin away from her.

This scene caught Amberโ€™s attention as she was getting out of the car with her child.

Ella said, โ€œMrs. Hart, I just donโ€™t get it. Olivia almost killed Stephanie, and you stillโ€”โ€

โ€œNo, thereโ€™s been a misunderstanding,โ€ Catlin cut in, shaking her head in despair.

Ella chuckled dryly. โ€œMisunderstanding? Then why did Olivia run away back then?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s because we didnโ€™t want Stephanie causing a scene and insisted on sending her away. Itโ€™s all our fault. Just tell Stephanie that Olivia is willing to take all the consequences. Just cure her first, and then Stephanie can punish her however she wants,โ€ Catlin said desperately.

Ella glared at her. โ€œAnd then what? How will you stop Stephanie? Freeze her accounts? Shut down her studio? Kick her out of Long Harbor?โ€

Wasnโ€™t that what they did before? The thought of the Hart family pulling these stunts only deepened Ellaโ€™s disgust. โ€œYou people have no idea who you should truly care about,โ€ Ella scoffed, throwing that jab before she turned to leave. Seeing her walk away made Catlin anxious. โ€œMs. Turner, waitโ€ฆโ€

Just as Catlin was about to chase after Ella, Amber stepped in front of her.

Catlin gasped. โ€œYou, move aside.โ€

Amber, holding her child, smirked sarcastically. โ€œSheโ€™s right. You really canโ€™t tell who your family is.โ€

โ€œAmber, donโ€™t push it,โ€ Catlin warned.

โ€œPush it? Iโ€™m currently holding your own grandson,โ€ Amber shot back.

Since the child returned, Catlin had been particularly cold, barely acknowledging him. At least the childโ€™s grandfather had visited him twice, bought him toys, and even contributed 3 million for his upbringing. But Catlinโ€ฆ

Amber said, โ€œLooks like that girlโ€™s words hit home. Your focus is all on your foster daughter now. Were you really planning to marry Olivia off to Tyler? Then why mess with Ms. Hodge?โ€

After getting into a fight with Lilian, Amber had calmed down and done her research. What she found out shocked her: Tyler was so infatuated with Olivia, and Catlin was, too.

โ€œHow dare you mention Lilian? You filthyโ€”โ€ Catlin was losing it, recalling how Amber and the Hodge family had clashed, and now they were targeting the Hart Group as well.

As chaos reigned in the Hart family, Amber insisted on staying in the Hart residence. The ones suffering the most were Catlin and Olivia.

Ella had just left the gated community when her momโ€™s call came through. โ€œMom, itโ€™s not even time for your allowance yet, is it?โ€

Ella had mixed feelings about her mom. They rarely talked about anything other than money. Every time her mom called, it was usually to check if the cash had hit her account.

โ€œCan you grab a document for me at the airport?โ€ her mom said.

โ€œWhat?โ€ Ella asked, surprised.

โ€œJust be a good girl. Iโ€™ll send you the number. Contact him when you arrive.โ€

Ella thought about saying she didnโ€™t have timeโ€”she needed to rush back and work on her articleโ€”but just like that, the call ended. That was her mom for you. Every time, it was the sameโ€”no room for extra words.

As soon as the call ended, the number popped up on her phone. Ella initially planned to head to her workplace but turned her car around and headed for the airport instead.
