Chapter 280
The new age. Stephanie woke up groggily. She shifted a little and immediately felt the tight embrace around her. She raised her head and met Sebastianโs smiling eyes. โWhy are you here?โ she asked, still half-asleep and confused.
He raised an eyebrow and pinched her cheek gently: โForgot already?โ
Cryshoni was stunned. Memories from last night flooded back into her mind, and she blushed instantly. โSo, why are you still here?โ she asked.
Timidly, he questioned, waiting for her to remember. Stephanie blinked, realization dawning on her. Sebastian had insisted on sleeping together, despite her explaining the pros and cons. He just wouldnโt listen.
After last night, both Elliot and the butler already knew about the dramatic change in their relationship. She had no choice but to let him handle it.
The phone vibrated nonstop. Sebastian picked it up and glanced at the screen. It wasnโt his; it was Stephanieโs. She grabbed her phone and saw it was Sofia calling. She handed it directly to Sebastian; she didnโt dare answer it herself.
Sebastian took the call, his brow furrowing when he saw it was from Sofia. Before he could say anything, Sofiaโs roar came through the line: โYou little brat! You really think youโre something, donโt you? Running away for three years has made you bold, hasnโt it? You actually dared to rat me out?โ
โLet me tell you, this isnโt over. You better never come back to Fiorenza in your life. It really pisses me off. How dare you turn me in? You think youโre so great, donโt you?โ Sofia was screaming in frustration over the phone. It was obvious she had been sent back to Fiorenza.
โAre you threatening her?โ Sebastianโs voice was low and stern. Sofia was rendered speechless. The line went silent.
Stephanie nervously clutched the lapel of Sebastianโs robe.
He pressed, โGo ahead.โ His tone was serious and intimidating. Sofia stammered, โSebastian, I, um, you knowโฆโ
Actually, Sofia was genuinely afraid of Sebastian when he was serious. She couldnโt even form a complete sentence. Sebastianโs cold aura seemed to travel through the phone, hitting Sofia like a chill.
โI was just joking with her. You know I miss her,โ Sofia quickly said. She really did miss Stephanie. When Sebastian brought Stephanie to live near the school, Sofia had wanted to go with them, but she had school to attend. For a long time, Sofia would let snacks go stale because she wanted to save them for Stephanie. But ever since Sebastian took Stephanie in, he became less regular with his visits home.
Sofia was angry. She loved Stephanie so much, but Stephanie had betrayed her.
Sebastian snorted, โYou miss her that much?โ The idea of threatening someone and then claiming it was a joke was quite something.
โI was just mad,โ Sofia said. โI miss her so much, but you wouldnโt let me come to Long Harbor.โ
Sofia was truly upset. When she found out Sebastian had found Stephanie, she had always wanted to come to Long Harbor. But Sebastian kept blocking her. This time, she had barely escaped from Fiorenza when Elliotโs people caught her and took her back. She couldnโt believe Stephanie hadnโt turned her in. It had to be Stephanie who informed Elliot. She was really mad at Stephanie, who betrayed her.
โWait, isnโt it just dawn in Long Harbor now? Could Stefi really wake up this early?โ Sofia asked, puzzled about why Stephanieโs phone was with Sebastian.
Stephanieโs heart leaped into her throat as she heard Sofiaโs question. She clutched Sebastianโs robe tighter.
