Chapter 274

Stephanie asked herself if she was scared. After witnessing these kinds of situations repeatedly with the Giovanni family, the fear she had felt the first time she saw Sebastian take a life had long since faded. She glanced indifferently at the lifeless body on the ground. โ€œWas he one of Lancelotโ€™s men?โ€ Stephanie had overheard Sebastian and Lorenzo discussing Lancelot back at Mount Spring.

Sebastian nodded, then leaned in and kissed her cold lips, his movements slow and tender. Stephanieโ€™s mind buzzed for a second, and she instinctively pushed against him. โ€œNo way.โ€

โ€˜For crying out loud, Sebastian, thereโ€™s a dead body right here. And Elliot and the others are all watching. What are you trying to do?โ€™

โ€˜Are you seriously letting everyone see that the sister you raised for years has now become your woman?โ€™ she wondered.

Elliot saw what Sebastian was doing to Stephanie, and even someone as composed as him felt his brain short-circuit for a moment. He had more or less guessed what had happened last night. But seeing Sebastian openly kiss Stephanie like this was beyond anything they had expected. His mind struggled to keep up, and he quickly turned around along with the rest of the bodyguards.

If even Elliot was having trouble processing this, Stephanie was no better. She did not exactly see what had happened last night as something to be proud of. She had assumed that she and Sebastian would need time to figure things out and sort through their relationship. But here he was, not giving anyone, including her, a chance to react.

Just as Stephanie was about to struggle, Sebastian caught her hand. His deep voice, now tinged with something more sensual, whispered, โ€œYou still dare to run?โ€

Stephanie stammered, โ€œNo, itโ€™s justโ€”โ€ She could not even form a full sentence. It was only when she started to feel breathless that Sebastian finally let her go. At that moment, Stephanie was panting, her face flushed red. Sebastian rested his forehead against hers. โ€œWhy did you come here? Hmm?โ€

She always needed plenty of rest and food whenever she caught a cold. She had just eaten some fruit, and Sebastian had assumed she would take a proper nap, so he had told Elliot to bring Carl over.

Stephanie nestled against him, her voice muffled against his chest. โ€œSofia is coming.โ€

Sebastian froze for a moment. His chest tightened. โ€œShe called you?โ€

Stephanie nodded. โ€œShe told me to pick her up from the airport in three hours.โ€

During the call just now, Sofia had threatened her in every way possible not to tell Sebastian. But the moment Stephanie hung up, she sold Sofia out without hesitation. A trace of displeasure flickered through Sebastianโ€™s eyes.

โ€œElliot,โ€ he called in a cold voice. Elliot was still facing away from them. Upon hearing Sebastian, he respectfully turned around. โ€œYes, Mr. Giovanni?โ€

โ€œFind out where Sofia is right now,โ€ Sebastian ordered. For the past two years, Sofia had been turning the world upside down trying to find Stephanie. Both Sebastian and Elliot knew exactly how furious Sofia was. And once she got to Stephanie, there was no way Stephanie would have an easy time. Sofia was sharp; she was not easy to guard against.

Elliot nodded. โ€œUnderstood.โ€

โ€œWhen you find her, have her sent straight back. Keep a close eye on her. And tell the person responsible for watching her this time to be ready to face punishment,โ€ Sebastian said, his tone especially displeased. Ever since Sofia had found out that Stephanie had been located, she had been causing a scene, demanding to come to Long Harbor and asking for Stephanieโ€™s number every single day. Now she had even managed to sneak out. She had some nerve.

Elliot nodded. โ€œYes.โ€ He turned and left, while Sebastian carried Stephanie in his arms and strode out of the billiards room. As he passed by Carlโ€™s lifeless body, his steps did not falter. However, he instinctively pressed Stephanieโ€™s face into his chest. Feeling the pressure on the back of her head, Stephanie obediently remained still. Sebastian carried her through the glass corridor and all the way back to her room. โ€œWhat do you want for dinner?โ€ he asked softly.
