Macro staggered forward, covering his forehead. “Oh my!” He only said the truth.

“You even hurt her! No wonder no one came to open the door when I rang the doorbell last night. Now I see why. Do you know how dangerous it was in that situation?”

Stephanie was a very innocent girl. She was proud and couldn’t have ever fallen for Chris, a man who loved someone else. Therefore, it was very likely that she had no physical contact with Chris at all in the two years when they were engaged. Sebastian might be the first bed partner she had.

Macro hissed. “So you’ve been preparing her for yourself all these years? That explains why you’re so good to her.”

“You take her everywhere you go, and when Sofia hid her away, you nearly tore Sofia apart.”

“So you weren’t treating her as your little sister but as a future wife?”

It was an astonishing discovery. It finally dawned on Macro why Stephanie wasn’t allowed to have any boys around her back in Fiorenza. All those boys who pursued her, who wanted to marry her, all ended up nowhere. Because Sebastian had viewed her as his future wife. So no one else would get her.

Sebastian only returned his exclamation with an icy glare. “If you say one more word, I don’t mind letting you experience my surgical skills.” There he went again with the same threat. All these years, anyone who dared to gossip about Stephanie was met with the same look. Macro finally knew why Sebastian was displeased when he and Lorenzo called Stephanie ‘sis.’ So the fact was that he had deemed Stephanie his own possession from the very beginning, and he allowed no one to take advantage of her, even verbally.

Macro took a deep breath. “You’re really something. But what about your mother?”

He lightened his tone. “She has treated Stefi like her own daughter all these years. And there’s Sofia. If she knows you turn her little sister into your wife, she will be furious. And we know if she gets furious, she’ll hide Stefi from you directly, and you’ll never see her again.”

It was so thrilling. “For all these years, I never realized you had such deep feelings for Stefi. You’re such a sly fox.”

Macro was more and more agitated as he continued.

All of Fiorenza knew that Stephanie was Sebastian’s treasured adopted sister. She was his sister! Sebastian had enough of him and cut him off briefly, “Medicine.”

Macro rolled his eyes.

He threw antipyretic and anti-inflammatory drugs at Sebastian. “I’ll have someone buy the ointment. You are really a beast.” He despised Sebastian for hurting Stephanie. Sebastian stood up and kicked him hard before going upstairs, leaving him gasping and cursing.

“You perpetrator! I was just telling the truth.” Macro thought the kick must have left another bruise on his leg. Anyway, the two kicks last night left two big bruises.

Sebastian went straight into the room with the medicine. Stephanie was already asleep because of the fever. Her breathing was a little unsteady, and she was wheezing. She must still have a little cold. When Sebastian picked her up and stuffed the pill into her mouth, she mumbled, “It’s bitter.”

Sebastian spoke gently. “Be good and take your medicine.”
