Reaching Lennoxโs study, I pushed the door open. The sight that greeted me was frightening. Jerek was pressed against the wall while Lennox held him by the shirt collar; Louis and Levi stood by a corner.
โTell me! Were you the one who sent those roses to our mate?โ Lennox demanded, his fangs already bared.
Jerek, looking confused and frightened, shook his head. โNo, Alphaโฆ noโฆ why would I do that?โ
โDonโt you dare lie to us,โ Louis grunted, moving toward Jerek. โYouโre the only male close to Olivia. First, you sparred with her, and second, you were her racing partner. So, if anyone would dare to have a crush on her, it would be you!โ Louis spat in anger.
Standing at the door, I fumed with anger.
โEnough!โ I shouted, my voice slicing through the thick tension in the room.
All eyes turned to me, but I didnโt flinchโnot even when Lennoxโs gaze snapped toward me, his face a storm of rage and jealousy.
โLet him go, Lennox! He didnโt do anything!โ
Lennox didnโt blink. His grip on Jerekโs collar remained tight, knuckles pale with pressure. โStay out of this, Olivia,โ he growled.
โI said let him go!โ I stepped further into the room, my frown deepening. โLook at him! Heโs terrified! He said he didnโt send the flowers!โ
โI donโt believe him,โ Lennox spat, baring his fangs. โHeโs the only one whoโs been close enough to youโtouching you, training with you, laughing like youโre more than just a Luna.โ
Jerek stammered, his voice shaking. โI swear on my mateโI didnโt send anything! I wouldnโt dare disrespect the bond you all have with her! I love my mateโwhy would I risk that?โ
Lennoxโs eyes burned brighter, but after a long, heavy silence, he finally shoved Jerek back with a grunt. โGet out of my sight.โ
Jerek stumbled away, breathing hard as he bowed quickly and exited the room as if the floor might collapse beneath him.
I barely had time to breathe before Lennox turned to me, stalking forward with fire in his eyes. โYou know who it is, Olivia,โ he said, his voice low and deadly serious. โYouโre hiding something.โ
My mouth parted in shock. โWhat the hell are you talking about?! You think Iโm lying to you?โ
โYes!โ he roared, his eyes wild. โBecause no man would dare send my mate something like that unless he was sure he had a place in your heart.โ
I stiffened. My heart was racing, but I met his rage head-on. โI donโt know who sent the flowers. And even if I didโI wouldnโt tell you! Not if this is how you act!โ
Lennox growled deep in his throat and took a step closer. His jaw clenched, muscles tight, and for a split second, I saw something almost frightening in his expression.
He raised a hand, but before it could move closer, Levi was thereโfast as lightning, stepping between us, palm pressed against Lennoxโs chest.
โAre you seriously thinking of hitting her?โ Levi asked, his voice low but dangerously sharp.
โGoddess forbid,โ Lennox snapped, glaring past his brother. โIโd never touch her like that, why would you even think that.โ
โThen calm the hell down,โ Levi said, his tone like iron. โSheโs not your punching bag, Lennox. Youโre angryโwe all areโbut donโt you dare take it out on her.โ
Lennox stood still, chest heaving, eyes flickering between Levi and me. His mouth opened, like he wanted to argue, but instead, he just turned away, running a frustrated hand through his hair.
I exhaled shakily, my arms still trembling from the confrontation.
Levi turned to me, his voice softer now. โAre you okay?โ
I nodded slowly. โYeahโฆ just sick of being treated like an object someone owns.โ
From the corner, Louis finally muttered, โYou belong to usโฆ better get used to that.โ
โIโm not a property,โ I shot back.
Lennox didnโt turn back, but his voice was rough when he finally spoke again. โIf she is trying to have an affair with youโฆ they better pray the Goddess gets to them before I do.โ
I knew Lennox, and I know what he could do, which made me wonder: who is this person that would risk his life?
Lennox continued. โAnd as for those rosesโyou are throwing them away!โ
โHell no!โ I refused.
Lennox turned and glared at me. โWhat did you say?โ
I met his glare. โI said I am not throwing them away.โ
โYes, you are. You are throwing them away,โ Louis interjected.
I frowned and glared at him. โI am not!โ
Lennoxโs glare could have set the whole damn room on fire, but I didnโt back down. My voice came out louder this time, firm and unwavering. โI said Iโm not throwing them away.โ
โYou will,โ Lennox growled, stepping closer again.
โNo, I wonโt,โ I hissed, standing my ground. โItโs mine, I didnโt ask for it, but itโs mine. And you. donโt get to dictate every little thing I do!โ
Louis moved closer too, fuming. โItโs disrespectful to usโto our bond! You keeping it is like spitting in our face!โ
I scoffed, crossing my arms. โIโm not throwing it away.โ
Before another word could be said, the door creaked open and Anita walked in. She took one look at the tense scene, her lips immediately curling in disdain as she sauntered in like she belonged there. โWhatโs going on here?โ Her eyes landed on me, full of judgment. โYouโre raising your voice at your Alphas again, Olivia? Thatโs no way to treat your Alphas. Have some respect.โ
I turned to her, eyes narrowing. Of course, sheโd show up now, nose buried in something that had nothing to do with her.
โYou better stay in your lane, Anita,โ I warned, my voice low and full of anger.
She lifted her chin, smug. โIโm just saying, this attitude of yoursโtalking back, refusing commandsโitโs not what a proper Luna should do.โ
I stepped forward, my voice like ice. โAnd you are not a Luna. Youโre a concubine. A bed warmer. So donโt come in here trying to correct me when Iโm talking to my husbands.โ
Anitaโs smug expression faltered, eyes widening just slightly as the sting of my words sank in. โYou donโt have a place in this conversation,โ I continued. โSo I suggest you take your self-righteous opinions and walk back out the way you came.โ
Anitaโs mouth opened like she wanted to argue, but even Louis and Levi went stillโno one defended her.
The silence that followed was thick, and all eyes were on me.
I turned back to Lennox and Louis, chin high, eyes unwavering. โNow, if weโre done here, I have no intention of getting rid of the flowers. And if you donโt trust me enough to believe Iโm not sneaking around behind your backs, thatโs your problem. Not mine.โ
Lennox stared at me for a long moment, jaw tense, but he didnโt speak.
And in that silence, I walked out. Head held high.
