Listen to this chapter:

Reaching Lennoxโ€™s study, I pushed the door open. The sight that greeted me was frightening. Jerek was pressed against the wall while Lennox held him by the shirt collar; Louis and Levi stood by a corner.

โ€œTell me! Were you the one who sent those roses to our mate?โ€ Lennox demanded, his fangs already bared.

Jerek, looking confused and frightened, shook his head. โ€œNo, Alphaโ€ฆ noโ€ฆ why would I do that?โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t you dare lie to us,โ€ Louis grunted, moving toward Jerek. โ€œYouโ€™re the only male close to Olivia. First, you sparred with her, and second, you were her racing partner. So, if anyone would dare to have a crush on her, it would be you!โ€ Louis spat in anger.

Standing at the door, I fumed with anger.

โ€œEnough!โ€ I shouted, my voice slicing through the thick tension in the room.

All eyes turned to me, but I didnโ€™t flinchโ€”not even when Lennoxโ€™s gaze snapped toward me, his face a storm of rage and jealousy.

โ€œLet him go, Lennox! He didnโ€™t do anything!โ€

Lennox didnโ€™t blink. His grip on Jerekโ€™s collar remained tight, knuckles pale with pressure. โ€œStay out of this, Olivia,โ€ he growled.

โ€œI said let him go!โ€ I stepped further into the room, my frown deepening. โ€œLook at him! Heโ€™s terrified! He said he didnโ€™t send the flowers!โ€

โ€œI donโ€™t believe him,โ€ Lennox spat, baring his fangs. โ€œHeโ€™s the only one whoโ€™s been close enough to youโ€”touching you, training with you, laughing like youโ€™re more than just a Luna.โ€

Jerek stammered, his voice shaking. โ€œI swear on my mateโ€”I didnโ€™t send anything! I wouldnโ€™t dare disrespect the bond you all have with her! I love my mateโ€”why would I risk that?โ€

Lennoxโ€™s eyes burned brighter, but after a long, heavy silence, he finally shoved Jerek back with a grunt. โ€œGet out of my sight.โ€

Jerek stumbled away, breathing hard as he bowed quickly and exited the room as if the floor might collapse beneath him.

I barely had time to breathe before Lennox turned to me, stalking forward with fire in his eyes. โ€œYou know who it is, Olivia,โ€ he said, his voice low and deadly serious. โ€œYouโ€™re hiding something.โ€

My mouth parted in shock. โ€œWhat the hell are you talking about?! You think Iโ€™m lying to you?โ€

โ€œYes!โ€ he roared, his eyes wild. โ€œBecause no man would dare send my mate something like that unless he was sure he had a place in your heart.โ€

I stiffened. My heart was racing, but I met his rage head-on. โ€œI donโ€™t know who sent the flowers. And even if I didโ€”I wouldnโ€™t tell you! Not if this is how you act!โ€

Lennox growled deep in his throat and took a step closer. His jaw clenched, muscles tight, and for a split second, I saw something almost frightening in his expression.

He raised a hand, but before it could move closer, Levi was thereโ€”fast as lightning, stepping between us, palm pressed against Lennoxโ€™s chest.

โ€œAre you seriously thinking of hitting her?โ€ Levi asked, his voice low but dangerously sharp.

โ€œGoddess forbid,โ€ Lennox snapped, glaring past his brother. โ€œIโ€™d never touch her like that, why would you even think that.โ€

โ€œThen calm the hell down,โ€ Levi said, his tone like iron. โ€œSheโ€™s not your punching bag, Lennox. Youโ€™re angryโ€”we all areโ€”but donโ€™t you dare take it out on her.โ€

Lennox stood still, chest heaving, eyes flickering between Levi and me. His mouth opened, like he wanted to argue, but instead, he just turned away, running a frustrated hand through his hair.

I exhaled shakily, my arms still trembling from the confrontation.

Levi turned to me, his voice softer now. โ€œAre you okay?โ€

I nodded slowly. โ€œYeahโ€ฆ just sick of being treated like an object someone owns.โ€

From the corner, Louis finally muttered, โ€œYou belong to usโ€ฆ better get used to that.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not a property,โ€ I shot back.

Lennox didnโ€™t turn back, but his voice was rough when he finally spoke again. โ€œIf she is trying to have an affair with youโ€ฆ they better pray the Goddess gets to them before I do.โ€

I knew Lennox, and I know what he could do, which made me wonder: who is this person that would risk his life?

Lennox continued. โ€œAnd as for those rosesโ€”you are throwing them away!โ€

โ€œHell no!โ€ I refused.

Lennox turned and glared at me. โ€œWhat did you say?โ€

I met his glare. โ€œI said I am not throwing them away.โ€

โ€œYes, you are. You are throwing them away,โ€ Louis interjected.

I frowned and glared at him. โ€œI am not!โ€

Lennoxโ€™s glare could have set the whole damn room on fire, but I didnโ€™t back down. My voice came out louder this time, firm and unwavering. โ€œI said Iโ€™m not throwing them away.โ€

โ€œYou will,โ€ Lennox growled, stepping closer again.

โ€œNo, I wonโ€™t,โ€ I hissed, standing my ground. โ€œItโ€™s mine, I didnโ€™t ask for it, but itโ€™s mine. And you. donโ€™t get to dictate every little thing I do!โ€

Louis moved closer too, fuming. โ€œItโ€™s disrespectful to usโ€”to our bond! You keeping it is like spitting in our face!โ€

I scoffed, crossing my arms. โ€œIโ€™m not throwing it away.โ€

Before another word could be said, the door creaked open and Anita walked in. She took one look at the tense scene, her lips immediately curling in disdain as she sauntered in like she belonged there. โ€œWhatโ€™s going on here?โ€ Her eyes landed on me, full of judgment. โ€œYouโ€™re raising your voice at your Alphas again, Olivia? Thatโ€™s no way to treat your Alphas. Have some respect.โ€

I turned to her, eyes narrowing. Of course, sheโ€™d show up now, nose buried in something that had nothing to do with her.

โ€œYou better stay in your lane, Anita,โ€ I warned, my voice low and full of anger.

She lifted her chin, smug. โ€œIโ€™m just saying, this attitude of yoursโ€”talking back, refusing commandsโ€”itโ€™s not what a proper Luna should do.โ€

I stepped forward, my voice like ice. โ€œAnd you are not a Luna. Youโ€™re a concubine. A bed warmer. So donโ€™t come in here trying to correct me when Iโ€™m talking to my husbands.โ€

Anitaโ€™s smug expression faltered, eyes widening just slightly as the sting of my words sank in. โ€œYou donโ€™t have a place in this conversation,โ€ I continued. โ€œSo I suggest you take your self-righteous opinions and walk back out the way you came.โ€

Anitaโ€™s mouth opened like she wanted to argue, but even Louis and Levi went stillโ€”no one defended her.

The silence that followed was thick, and all eyes were on me.

I turned back to Lennox and Louis, chin high, eyes unwavering. โ€œNow, if weโ€™re done here, I have no intention of getting rid of the flowers. And if you donโ€™t trust me enough to believe Iโ€™m not sneaking around behind your backs, thatโ€™s your problem. Not mine.โ€

Lennox stared at me for a long moment, jaw tense, but he didnโ€™t speak.

And in that silence, I walked out. Head held high.
