304 Call It Off

Lennox finally stood, his expression softening, though his jaw was still tense. โ€œWeโ€™re sorry, Olivia. Really. We justโ€ฆ didnโ€™t want you to worry. This war? Itโ€™s nothing. Weโ€™ll be back before you even know weโ€™ve left.โ€

I froze. โ€œGabriel?โ€ My brows pulled together in confusion. Why would he be calling me after everythingโ€ฆ after his betrayal?

I shook my head instantly. โ€œNo. Absolutely not.โ€ My voice cracked slightly. โ€œI just got you three back. Things are finally starting to work. And I donโ€™t want anything happening to you. I donโ€™t want any risks.โ€

Their eyes widened instantly. Leviโ€™s brows pulled together. โ€œOliviaโ€ฆ are you sure youโ€™re ready for that?โ€

I didnโ€™t say another word. I ended the call, tossed the phone back to Lolita, and instantly teleported.

He exhaled heavily, clearly unhappy, but he let me go.

But deep down, a heavy guilt curled in my chest because I was keeping a secret of my own.

โ€œYou have the guts to call me?โ€ I spat without greeting.

โ€œIโ€™m not calling just for that,โ€ he said urgently. โ€œI need your help. The tripletsโ€ฆ theyโ€™re waging war against my pack. I donโ€™t want innocent souls to die because of me. Iโ€™m ready for any punishment you think I deserveโ€ฆ but not war.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll be back,โ€ I told Lolita, then left my room.

I rolled my eyes and looked away, pretending to be mad. Louis moved closer, trying to touch my arm, but I stepped back.

Lennoxโ€™s sharp eyes lingered on me longer than usual, like he could see straight through my deflection. โ€œWhat is it?โ€ he asked finally, his voice low but filled with concern. โ€œSomethingโ€™s bothering you. I can feel it.โ€

And he was right. Damn it, he was right. But this timeโ€ฆ the risk? It wasnโ€™t one I was willing to take.

The old seerโ€™s cloudy eyes studied me, her gaze unreadable, before she finally gave a slow nod. โ€œAlrightโ€ฆ we will do it tonight. But if the process becomes risky, Iโ€™ll stop it.โ€

I pulled away before he could deepen it, turning toward Levi. His warm hands cupped my face as soon as I leaned in, and when my lips touched his, he groaned softly into my mouth like he didnโ€™t want to let me go.

โ€œSee you later,โ€ I said, and with that, I teleported back to my room.

I raised a brow. โ€œWho?โ€

Lolita shrugged. โ€œAlpha Calvin demanded her attention.โ€

โ€œWhereโ€™s Nora?โ€ I asked, confused.

With a deepening frown and my arms folded across my chest, I stared at them. โ€œI believe you three have some explaining to do,โ€ I said coldly.

โ€œI know,โ€ he said quickly. โ€œAnd Iโ€™m sorry. Truly, I am.โ€

The moment I reappeared in my room, I met Lolita there, arranging some clothes, but the second she saw me, her face lit up in relief.

โ€œWeโ€™re sorryโ€ฆ we promise we wonโ€™t keep anything from you again,โ€ he said sincerely.

When I arrived, only Lolita was there. Nora was nowhere in sight.

I took a step closer, my gaze bouncing between all of them. โ€œThe war is not happening. I donโ€™t care what Gabriel did. Youโ€™re not going. Youโ€™re calling him, and youโ€™re canceling it. Now.โ€

โ€œAlpha Gabriel,โ€ Lolita said, watching my reaction closely.

โ€œThank goodness you cameโ€ฆโ€ she said quickly, almost rushing the words out. โ€œGuess who called.โ€

Louis tilted his head, his gaze softening with concern. โ€œI heard itโ€™s been ten years. This isnโ€™t something you justโ€ฆ decide in a moment.โ€

Levi was the first to move. He practically rushed for the phone, snatching it from the nightstand before anyone else could say a word. Without hesitation, he dialed Gabrielโ€™s number and put it on loudspeaker.

โ€œI know,โ€ I said quietly, my fingers tightening slightly against my shirt. โ€œBut I think so. I need her now. More than ever.โ€

When I reached it, I should have knocked. But something came over me. I just grabbed the doorknob, pushed it open, and stepped inside.

I hesitated for a moment, my wolf growling low in my chest. Then I snatched the phone from Lolitaโ€™s hand and answered.

There was a short pause on the line before his voice came through, soft and almost pleading. โ€œOliviaโ€ฆ Iโ€™m sorry.โ€

โ€œAre you sure about this?โ€ the seer asked again for what felt like the hundredth time after I told her I wanted to heal my mother.

The three of them exchanged glances like they were silently trying to decide how to handle me.

I frowned. Something was definitely going onโ€“and I needed to get to the bottom of it.

Louis was the closest to me, so I leaned in first and pressed my lips to his. He let out a low, deep moan against my mouth, his hands immediately sliding to grip my waist possessively.

I tightened my grip on the phone. โ€œIf youโ€™re calling to apologize, save it. I wonโ€™t forgive you.โ€

I appeared right in Lennoxโ€™s room to find all three of them seated on the bed. The moment they saw me, I noticed that look of unease in them, like they had been caught doing something they were not supposed to do.

I nodded quickly. โ€œThank you. Soโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll see you tonight?โ€

Stepping in, my stomach dropped, and I could only stare, unable to believe what I was seeing.

There was a beat of silence before I stepped back slightly. โ€œI have to leave.โ€

Louis leaned closer to the phone. โ€œWeโ€™re calling off the war,โ€ he said flatly. โ€œBut donโ€™t think this is over, Gabriel. Youโ€™ll hear from us soon.โ€

I gave a faint smile and shook my head. โ€œI have to leave.โ€

Before I could even ask, her phone rang again.

Gabriel answered almost immediately, his voice tense. โ€œHello?โ€

When he broke away, his hand stayed on the back of my neck, holding me in place. โ€œStay a little longer,โ€ he murmured, his voice low and rough.

The three brothers exchanged tense glances before returning their gazes to me. Levi was the first to get up as he approached me. โ€œWe are sorry, Olivia. We didnโ€™t want you to get worried.โ€

He groaned under his breath but didnโ€™t argue.

This time, I didnโ€™t teleport. I walked to Calvinโ€™s room.

I narrowed my eyes. โ€œLennox. Levi. Louis. Itโ€™s either you three call Gabriel right nowโ€ฆ or I will never talk to any of you again.โ€

Finally, I moved to Lennox. The moment our lips met, his kiss was differentโ€“deep, claiming, filled with the kind of possession that made my knees threaten to give out. He groaned against my lips and pulled me closer until I could feel his heartbeat pounding in sync with mine.

I didnโ€™t look their way. Yes, I was angry they kept things away from me, but that wasnโ€™t my only concern. I was worried about the silly vow our great-grandmother made and how the triplets would react to it.

I let out a bitter scoff. โ€œSorry? I trusted you, Gabriel. I thought you were my knight in shining armor. I thought you were different.โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ I said firmly. โ€œI need her now.โ€

I forced a small smile that didnโ€™t quite reach my eyes. โ€œItโ€™s nothingโ€ฆ I justโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll be trying to heal my mother tonight.โ€

โ€œYou got lucky,โ€ Lennox said darkly, his tone dripping with rage. โ€œI wanted to paint the ground with your blood.โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ she confirmed.

โ€œLennox!โ€ I snapped sharply. โ€œWatch your tongue.โ€

My frown deepened, and my glare fixed on the three of them. โ€œWhy did you have to keep this away from me? I thought we said no secrets among us.โ€

Levi ended the call, then smiled at me. โ€œAll for you, Princess,โ€ he teased.

They hesitated.

A small, grateful smile spread across my lips. โ€œThank you,โ€ I repeated softly before teleporting away.

Lennox finally broke the silence. โ€œOliviaโ€ฆ thereโ€™s no need to get scared. Weโ€™ve handled worse. You know we can win this.โ€

My frown deepened instantly. The tripletsโ€ฆ going to war? And they didnโ€™t tell me?

That got them.

Gabriel exhaled audibly, clearly relieved, but smart enough not to say anything stupid. God, I wished I could. But I had too much on my plate.
