Lennoxโ€™s POV

โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ I asked, confused.

Uncle Damien scoffed bitterly, shaking his head. โ€œDonโ€™t act like you donโ€™t know what you didโ€ฆ you and your brothers. You three are the reason Sofia left me. Iโ€™ve been waiting for the right moment to pay you back. And when the chance cameโ€”oh, I grabbed it without a second thought.โ€

My frown deepened. I genuinely had no idea what he was talking about.

โ€œWhat do you mean weโ€™re the reason Sofia left?โ€ I muttered, stunned.

Louis, who had been silent, stood up and marched toward Damien. โ€œWhat the hell are you saying?โ€ he snapped.

Damien narrowed his eyes. โ€œStop pretending. You all know exactly what Iโ€™m talking about.โ€

โ€œWe donโ€™t!โ€ I growled, losing my patience. โ€œWe donโ€™t fucking know what youโ€™re talking about!โ€

Father stepped forward, his voice calm but edged with confusion. โ€œDamienโ€ฆ what is this really about?โ€

Damien turned to him, his face hardening. โ€œYour sonsโ€ฆ they betrayed me.โ€

โ€œHow?โ€ I demanded. โ€œHow did we betray you?!โ€

Damien was like an older brother to us. He was family. We respected himโ€”loved him. What betrayal was he talking about?

He glared at the three of us. โ€œYou remember when you came to spend those few days in my pack? I saw the way you acted around Sofia. At first, I thought nothing of itโ€ฆ figured you were just being friendly, maybe saw her as a sister. I never imagined you were catching feelings for my fiancรฉe.โ€

I took a step forward, disgusted. โ€œGod forbid! Are you even hearing yourself? Sofia was your fiancรฉeโ€”and she was five years older than us! How could you ever think weโ€™d have feelings for her?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re lying,โ€ Damien said coldly. โ€œAll three of youโ€”liars.โ€

Louis looked like heโ€™d explode. โ€œYouโ€™re insane.โ€

Damien ignored him. โ€œAnd as if that wasnโ€™t bad enoughโ€ฆ I shared something with youโ€”something only I and my personal healer knew. I told you I wasโ€ฆ impotent. That my healer had confirmed it. I told you how scared I was to tell Sofiaโ€ฆ because she wanted kids. Because she dreamed of being a mother.โ€

He clenched his fists, trembling with anger. โ€œI trusted you with that. And the very next day, she left. She left a letter saying she couldnโ€™t be with me now that she knew I couldnโ€™t give her children. She knew the one thing no one else did. And the only people I toldโ€ฆ were you three.โ€

His voice dropped, filled with pain. โ€œIt was you. One of you told her.โ€

I shook my head, my heart pounding. โ€œWe didnโ€™t tell her,โ€ I said firmly. โ€œNone of us did.โ€

I turned to my brothers. โ€œLouisโ€ฆ Leviโ€ฆ did any of you?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Louis said immediately, his jaw clenched. โ€œNever.โ€

โ€œNot me,โ€ Levi added, looking hurt. โ€œWhy would we betray him like that?โ€

I looked back at Damien, my voice rising. โ€œYou hear that? None of us said a word. We didnโ€™t tell Sofia anything!โ€

But Damienโ€™s face remained stone cold. He scoffed bitterly. โ€œOf course youโ€™d deny it. Thatโ€™s exactly why I never confronted you back then. I knew what youโ€™d say.โ€

โ€œBecause weโ€™re innocent!โ€ I snapped.

โ€œNo,โ€ he growled. โ€œBecause youโ€™re guiltyโ€”and I know it. I saw the way she looked at you three. I saw the way you hovered around her like lovesick puppies. Donโ€™t stand there and pretend you didnโ€™t want her for yourselves.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s insane,โ€ Louis muttered.

โ€œYou wanted her,โ€ Damien went on, ignoring him. โ€œYou took the one woman I lovedโ€”the woman I was going to marryโ€”and now Iโ€™ve returned the favor.โ€

I froze.

โ€œWhat?โ€ I breathed.

His eyes burned into mine. โ€œYou made me lose my mateโ€ฆ the only woman Iโ€™ve ever loved. So now, Iโ€™ve made sure you lose yours.โ€

It hit me like a punch to the gut.

โ€œOlivia,โ€ Levi whispered, eyes wide with horror.

Damienโ€™s lips curled into a cruel smirk. โ€œAn eye for an eye, boys. You took my heart and crushed it. So, Iโ€™ve returned the favor. Youโ€™ll never get her back.โ€

A sick silence filled the room. My stomach twisted.

All thisโ€ฆ all of it was his revenge plan. He truly believed we told Sofia about his secret. But we didnโ€™tโ€”and Iโ€™d stake my life on itโ€”none of my brothers would ever do something like that. And Sofia? Why would he ever think we liked her that way?

Yes, we were close to herโ€ฆ but only because she reminded us of Olivia. Her voice, her laugh, the way she walkedโ€”even her stubbornness. It was like watching a grown version of her. That was the only reason we stayed close. Not because of desireโ€ฆ never that.

Father stepped forward, anger and disbelief written all over his face. โ€œDamien,โ€ he said quietly, but firmly. โ€œI can swear on my lifeโ€ฆ my sons didnโ€™t tell Sofia anything. I know them. They wouldnโ€™t betray you.โ€

But Damienโ€™s face twisted into a deeper rage.

โ€œKeep quiet!โ€ he shouted, his voice shaking with rage. โ€œYouโ€™re just as much a liar as they are!โ€

Father froze. โ€œWhat?โ€

Damienโ€™s lip curled. โ€œYou want to swear on your life?โ€ he spat. โ€œWhen are you going to tell Olivia the truth? When will you finally stand before your pack and admit that her father wasnโ€™t guilty of the theft he was accused ofโ€ฆ and that he isnโ€™t dead?!โ€

The room went still. Everything stopped. Even time.

My heart stuttered in my chest, and I saw the shock flash across my brothersโ€™ faces as we all turned to stare at our father.

He went pale.

โ€œWhatโ€ฆ what did you just say?โ€ I asked, barely able to get the words out.

Damien laughedโ€”a low, cold, bitter sound that sent chills through my spine. โ€œYeah. Thatโ€™s right. Maybe before throwing around your righteous little speeches, brother, you should look in the mirror. Youโ€™re hiding something too. Lying to everyone.โ€

Fatherโ€™s hands curled into fists at his sides. His jaw clenched, but he didnโ€™t say a word. He didnโ€™t even deny his brotherโ€™s claim.

โ€œFather, what is he talking about?โ€ Levi, who had managed to leave the bed, asked.

Father frowned deeply, glaring at his brother before turning to us.

โ€œYES. Oliviaโ€™s father was innocent. And he is alive and healthy. Thatโ€™s all you need to knowโ€ฆ for now.โ€ With that, he turned sharply and left the room with Mother.

I exchanged shocked glances with my brothers, struggling to process what had just happened. Our father had just walked out after dropping a bomb that shattered everything we thought we knew.

Oliviaโ€™s fatherโ€ฆ alive? Innocent?

I clenched my fists, my breathing uneven. The same man she cried overโ€ฆ mournedโ€ฆ nearly killed herself for? He was alive this whole time?

โ€œUnbelievable,โ€ Louis muttered, shaking his head in disbelief. โ€œWhat the hell is going on?โ€

Levi looked like the wind had been knocked out of him. โ€œDoes Olivia know?โ€ he whispered.

I didnโ€™t answer. I couldnโ€™t. Because my thoughts were spinning too fastโ€ฆ too loud.

Behind us, Damien let out a long, slow breathโ€”almost like he was satisfied. He dusted his hands as he took a few steps back. โ€œWellโ€ฆ I guess my work here is done.โ€

We all turned to him slowly. He smiled, that same cruel smirk still dancing on his lips. โ€œIโ€™ve waited three years for this moment. Watching your lives fall apart the same way mine didโ€ฆ itโ€™s been satisfying, boys.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re sick,โ€ Louis spat.

Damien laughed lightly. โ€œCall it whatever you want. But now you know what it feels like to lose someone you love because of betrayalโ€ฆ or at least the idea of it. Just like I did.โ€

I took a step forward, my voice cold. โ€œYou really think this is over?โ€

โ€œOh, it is,โ€ Damien said, casually adjusting his coat. โ€œI came. I exposed. I broke you. And now, Iโ€™m going back home.โ€

He started toward the door, then paused, glancing over his shoulder one last time. โ€œOh, and by the wayโ€ฆโ€ He smirked, eyes glinting with mockery. โ€œGood luck winning Olivia back. If you even think sheโ€™ll forgive you after everythingโ€ฆ after what you didโ€ฆโ€ He chuckled. โ€œYouโ€™re more delusional than I thought.โ€

My chest tightened.

โ€œShe will vanish from your lives,โ€ Damien added. โ€œJust like Sofia did.โ€

And with that, he walked out. A suffocating silence hung in the air. No one moved. No one spoke. I could feel my brothersโ€™ stares. I could feel my own breath shaking in and out, trying to keep it together.

But then, after a few minutes, the silence was broken by soft footsteps outside the door, then the door eased openโ€ฆ And this timeโ€ฆ it wasnโ€™t Damien.

It was Olivia. She stood there in the doorway, arms wrapped tightly around herself. Her eyes were hard. But there was no sadness in her gaze now, just something cold. Emotionless.

My heart stopped.

โ€œOlivia,โ€ I whispered, taking a step forward.

She lifted a hand, stopping me in my tracks.

โ€œIโ€™m not here to talk,โ€ she said quietly. Her voice was calm, too calm. โ€œIโ€™m only here to say one thing.โ€

We waited, every muscle in my body tense. She met each of our eyesโ€”me, then Louis, then Levi. Her lips trembled for half a secondโ€ฆ but she pressed them together and went on.

โ€œIโ€™m leaving,โ€ she said.
