Oliviaโ€™s POV

I raised a brow, staring at Levi, wondering what condition they could possibly add now. โ€œWeโ€™ll agree to her request and reject herโ€”but she has to remain in Full Moon Pack,โ€ Lennox muttered.

A deep frown spread across my face as I glared at them. โ€œI am not staying here,โ€ I spat angrily. The triplets exchanged a worried glance before settling their gazes on me. โ€œOlivia, this is for your safety. We canโ€™t ignore the warnings and prophecy,โ€ Levi said, sounding worried.

My frown deepened. Before I could retort, one of the elders spoke. โ€œAnd what prophecy is that?โ€

Lennox stepped forward, squaring his shoulders. โ€œOur seer warned us clearly. She must not leave this pack. There is danger waiting for her beyond our borders.โ€

I scoffed. โ€œYou mean the seer you asked to lie, just so I could remain trapped here?โ€ I spat. Lennoxโ€™s jaw clenched. โ€œThatโ€™s not true.โ€

โ€œOh, really?โ€ I folded my arms tightly across my chest. โ€œYou want me to believe anything that comes out of your mouths now? After everything?โ€

Levi stepped forward, his voice gentler. โ€œOlivia, please. Weโ€™re not trying to trap you. You just donโ€™t understand the riskโ€”โ€

โ€œI understand perfectly,โ€ I snapped, cutting him off. โ€œYou want to reject me but still keep me locked up like someโ€ฆ cursed pet. For your own guilt? Or is it control?โ€

Louis spoke, seemingly frustrated. โ€œYou think we want this? Weโ€™re trying to protect you.โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ I said sharply. โ€œI can take care of myself. I have been doing that for years. I donโ€™t need your help now.โ€

The room fell into tense silence until one of the elders cleared his throat. โ€œThis isnโ€™t going anywhere until the seer is brought before the council. If she truly had a vision, we need to see her for ourselves.โ€

Lennox hesitated, then gave a stiff nod. He motioned to the guard near the door, who came forward as Lennox quietly gave him the order to fetch the seer.

Minutes dragged by, heavy and suffocating, as everyone waited in strained silence. My heart poundedโ€”not from fear, but from anger and frustration. They thought they could control me with fake concern. Not this time.

The door creaked open, and soft footsteps echoed in the hall before the seer stepped in. โ€œSeer,โ€ Elder Grant called gently. โ€œYouโ€™ve given a warning regarding Lady Olivia. Speak now, before the council, and let all present hear the truth.โ€

The room fell silent again as all turned to her. Her gaze swept the room before settling on me. A strange chill ran down my spine as her cloudy eyes locked onto mine. For a moment, something flickered in themโ€”pity? Fear? I couldnโ€™t tell.

โ€œThe vision came clear and strong,โ€ she rasped. โ€œIf she leaves the Full Moon Pack, death will follow her.โ€

A murmur rippled through the room. โ€œLies,โ€ I snapped before anyone else could speak. โ€œYouโ€™re saying exactly what they want you to say. Just like they told you to.โ€

She shook her head slowly. โ€œI speak only what the spirits show me, childโ€”Your leaving will bring ruin upon you.โ€

Lennox took a step forward, his expression tight. โ€œWe didnโ€™t pay her, Olivia. We didnโ€™t ask her to lie. We want you safe.โ€

โ€œThen reject me and let me go!โ€ I fired back. โ€œYou canโ€™t have it both ways. Reject me and release me, or keep me and face the truth that youโ€™re too selfish to let me be free.โ€

Leviโ€™s jaw clenched. Louis turned away, running a hand through his hair, frustration pouring off him in waves.

โ€œSeer,โ€ Elder Corbin pressed, voice firm. โ€œTell usโ€”is there any way to break this fate? Any path where the girl may leave without this doom?โ€

The old woman hesitated, her thin fingers twisting the beads at her wrist. Then she shook her head. โ€œThere is none.โ€ She tilted her head toward me. โ€œAs long as she leaves, death will fall on her.โ€

The elders muttered among themselves. I stared at the seer, a bitter taste rising in my mouth. โ€œConvenient,โ€ I said coldly. โ€œEverything tied to them. Always them.โ€

Lennox met my eyes. Worry and concern were obvious, but I didnโ€™t let it affect me.

โ€œIโ€™m not staying,โ€ I said, breaking the silence. โ€œNo prophecy, no vision, no lie you tell will keep me caged here.โ€

โ€œOliviaโ€”โ€ Levi started, stepping forward, but Elder Corbin raised a hand, stopping him.

The room stayed quiet for a moment, filled only with tense breaths and fast-beating hearts. Elder Grant turned toward me. โ€œLady Olivia, do you truly wish to leave? Even after hearing the seerโ€™s words?โ€

โ€œYes,โ€ I said firmly, not hesitating. โ€œIf I stay here, I will kill myself.โ€

A sharp gasp echoed across the room. The triplets stiffened like theyโ€™d been slapped. Pain flashed across their faces. โ€œYou donโ€™t mean that,โ€ Levi whispered.

โ€œI do,โ€ I said, my voice trembling. โ€œIf I stay here, Iโ€™ll die piece by piece. I wonโ€™t survive this.โ€

The elders began deliberating softly among themselves. I looked across the room and locked eyes with Alpha Damien. He didnโ€™t speak, but he gave me a slow, approving nod. This was strange; these men were his nephews. Why would he take pleasure in their suffering?

Then I turned to face the triplets: Lennox, Levi, Louis. Their eyes were wide, panic slowly rising.

Elder Grant cleared his throat. โ€œWe have heard her decision. The council has discussedโ€ฆ and we will respect it.โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ Lennox barked, stepping forward. โ€œYou canโ€™tโ€”โ€

โ€œShe has made her choice,โ€ Elder Mariam cut in calmly. โ€œShe is not a child. She can take care of herself.โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s our mate!โ€ Louis shouted. โ€œOur bonded mate!โ€

โ€œAnd she has rejected your bond in her heart,โ€ Elder Grant said sternly. โ€œYou cannot force her to stay here.โ€

The triplets looked devastated, but the elders remained firm. Elder Corbin turned to me again. โ€œLady Olivia, if something happens to youโ€ฆ will you place the blame on this council, or any among us?โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ I said quietly. โ€œWhatever happens next is on me. I wonโ€™t blame anyone.โ€

Levi ran a hand through his hair, eyes glassy. Louis looked away, jaw clenched. Lennox just stared, stilled, like heโ€™d been frozen. I could tell they would do anything to stop thisโ€ฆ but this was the councilโ€™s decision, and there was nothing they could do about it.

I met the seerโ€™s gaze. She held itโ€”then slowly shook her head. A knot of unease twisted in my chest, but I forced it down.

โ€œOliviaโ€ฆ donโ€™t you think you should reconsider?โ€ my wolf whispered, sounding anxious.

I shook my head. This was the tripletsโ€™ plan to scare meโ€”but I wouldnโ€™t fall for it. Elder Mariam spoke. โ€œThen it is settled. Lady Olivia is free to leave if she wants to.โ€ โ€œNo,โ€ Lennox growled, stepping forward. His voice was firm, but I heard the pain shaking in it. โ€œYou canโ€™t do this. We wonโ€™t let her go.โ€

My chest tightened. Elder Grantโ€™s eyes narrowed. His voice stayed calm, but it was cold and sharp. โ€œYou may be Alphas of your pack, but donโ€™t forgetโ€”we are Elders of all werewolf clans. Disrespecting us means disrespecting all werewolf law.โ€

Elder Mariam leaned forward, her tone full of hate. โ€œUnless youโ€™re declaring war on the council, I suggest you remember your place, Alpha Lennox.โ€

Lennox froze. I saw his fists clench. He wanted to fight. I knew he did. Levi looked like he was grinding his teeth. Louisโ€™s eyes burned with angerโ€ฆ fear. For a second, I thought they might actually explode. But they stayed silent. Their anger and helplessness filled the air.

Then Lennox looked at me. I saw the pain in Lennoxโ€™s eyes. I felt it. And I hated that I still loved him. Loved all of them. But I held my ground. I stood tall, even as my heart ached. Even as my body screamed at me to run to them. But I didnโ€™t. I couldnโ€™t. Because deep down, I knew this was the right thing to do.

Elder Corbinโ€™s voice cut through the silence. โ€œLady Olivia,โ€ he said authoritatively, โ€œwe will now begin the rejection. Since all parties are present, it will be done immediatelyโ€”before the council.โ€

The air turned heavy. This was it. I was about to reject them. And I was about to lose them. Forever.
