Chapter 901

โ€œYes, Mr. Hayes, you have my word. Iโ€™ll do my best.โ€

As she spoke, Lisa even threw Albert a flirtatious glance.

Clearly, both of them were quite satisfied with what had just happened.

Albert merely smiled and said nothing.

When it came to women, don't treat them too well. Otherwise, theyโ€™d become spoiled.

He understood that all too well.

That was exactly why he knew how to handle someone like her.

Running such a large corporation required a certain level of ruthlessness.

Right now, the most pressing issue was locating which prison Julian had been sent to. If they didnโ€™t get him out soon, the company might collapse. If Grace pulled her investment, the losses would be catastrophic.

Besides, compared to the Walton Corporation, the Hayes Enterprises didnโ€™t stand a chance. In a direct comparison, they were clearly at a disadvantage.

That was precisely why Albert was desperate to bring Julian back. Letting this drag on wasnโ€™t an option. Grace had already laid out her terms clearlyโ€“she wanted answers. But at this point, Albert didnโ€™t even know how to bring the matter up to her.

Julian was the key. Without him, Albert couldnโ€™t think of another way.

Still, the idea of sitting back and doing nothing was unacceptable. This company had been built by his own hands. It had accompanied him through so many years. He couldnโ€™t hand it over to someone else or watch it fall apart. Since that was the case, he had no choice but to throw that unfilial son under the bus.

Albert really had no other way.

Meanwhile, after her entanglement with Albert, Lisa walked with a noticeable spring in her step. She looked at the people around her with her nose in the air.

A bunch of clueless workersโ€“no matter how hard they worked, theyโ€™d never compare to cozying up to the boss. What was the use of doing all that pointless work? As long as she kept a good relationship with Albert, what did she have to worry about in the future?

Lisa held her head high as she walked.

Some who disliked her were already whispering behind her back.

โ€œIsnโ€™t that secretary acting a little strange?โ€

Once that was said, others started to feel the same. After all, while Lisa had always been annoying, sheโ€™d never acted so arrogant before.

โ€œExactly. The way sheโ€™s behavingโ€ฆ you don't think she's gotten involved with Mr. Hayes?โ€

Everyone started agreeing.

โ€œYou know, I think youโ€™re right."

Honestly, no one found it hard to believe something like this could happen with Lisa. Sheโ€™d always dressed rather provocatively. The way she treated Albert compared to her colleagues was like night and day. No one was stupid. It wasnโ€™t hard to figure out.

โ€œRight? The way she dresses every day, you think sheโ€™d care what we say about her?โ€

โ€œMost likely latched onto the chairman. Otherwise, why the change?โ€

Everyone was well aware of the kind of secretary she was. No one was naรฏve. Theyโ€™d all seen how attentive she was toward the chairman. She looked down on everyone except him. If that wasnโ€™t sucking up to power, then what was?

That was why all these suspicions had taken shape today. And honestly, there was enough basis for them.

Still, no one dared to say any of this in front of Lisa.
