“These past four weeks, I don’t even know how I made it through,” Lucas said quietly. “Every day, I sat there staring at your profile, drowning in a kind of despair I didn’t know was possible.”

Aurora didn’t know how to comfort him. Her heart ached just as much. The Lucas she knew had never been like this. He used to keep everything bottled up, never saying a word about what he really felt. But now, he was so open and raw, it left her unsure how to respond.

Her voice softened. “Well, I’m awake now, aren’t I? It felt like I was trapped in this long, endless dream. In it, I relived so many moments from my past.”

Then she paused. A flicker of confusion crossed her face. “No… that’s not right. It wasn’t a dream.”

Lucas frowned slightly, not quite following. “What do you mean?”

Aurora looked straight at him, her gaze clear and certain. “Because I just realized what I said wasn’t right. That wasn’t a dream. Everything I saw really happened.”

Lucas leaned in, visibly intrigued. It was the first time he’d heard her speak like this. “You’re serious?”

Aurora nodded solemnly. “Yes. I am. All those moments I saw–they were real. They happened to me, from when I was a child right up to now. And I even saw things I hadn’t noticed before.”

Lucas’ heart skipped a beat. A spark of hope lit up inside him. Did that mean she remembered what they’d once shared?

Seeing the look in his eyes, Aurora gave him a firm nod. “Yes. I remember everything.”

For a second, Lucas’ eyes widened in shock. He hadn’t expected her to actually remember it all. That meant all his efforts hadn’t been in vain. Lucas had always feared Aurora might never remember that moment from their past. But now, all of a sudden, she did. And for him, that was the greatest gift imaginable. There was no doubt it brought them even closer.

This time, it was Aurora who threw her arms around Lucas. “I really do remember now. You were the boy who stayed by my side back then, the one who kept talking to me and even gave me chocolate.”

Lucas parted his lips slightly, stunned. For a moment, he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. She hadn’t just guessed. She genuinely remembered. It wasn’t out of politeness or from someone else telling her. She remembered him. All those days while she was unconscious, all the things she said earlier–he’d taken it all with a grain of salt. But now, he had no choice but to believe it. She had truly remembered everything. She’d seen her childhood, and this time, she didn’t look at him like a stranger anymore.
