Chapter 745
Once Megan finished getting ready and was about to head out, she finally noticed something off about the weather outside.
Her roommate kept trying to stop her. โMegan, look at the skyโwhere do you think youโre going in this weather?โ
โIโm going to the Crestford professorโs lecture,โ Megan replied, casually brushing it off.
She was usually pretty carefree and didnโt think much of the storm. To her, this just looked like typical pre-rain weather.
Her roommate, however, was clearly unnerved. โWith the weather like that, how can you still think about going out? This isnโt the time to act tough!โ
Megan scratched her head. โBut I have a friend waiting for me at the auditorium. I have to go.โ
Her classmate looked at her with frustration. โCanโt you just send her a message?โ
โCome on. Just look outside. We should all stay in. Donโt even think about going anywhere.โ
โExactly. Thereโll be other chances to hear the lecture, but you only get one life.โ
Everyone around her was trying to stop her. Megan had always been on good terms with her classmates. She was the kind who shared whatever she had and got along with everyone. That was exactly why they couldnโt just stand by and let her walk into danger; because she had always been good to them, they genuinely cared about her.
โMegan, please donโt be stubborn. No matter what you say, weโre not letting you leave today.โ
Seeing how firm they were, and how some of them were even huddled nervously in the corner, Megan finally started to waver. She was beginning to realize that something really wasnโt right. This wasnโt just her imagination anymore.
She stopped thinking about going out and quickly sent a message to Aurora, telling her to be careful and get out of there if she could. Whatever she did, she shouldnโt linger outside. The weather had turned dangerous, and Megan was terrified Aurora โ being her usual stubborn self โ might still be sitting in the auditorium waiting. If she didnโt go, then what would Aurora do all alone? The thought of it made Megan so anxious, she nearly burst into tears. She stood frozen for a long time before her trembling fingers finally managed to type out a message to Aurora.
โAre you still in the auditorium?โ
โGo back to the dorm and stay thereโdonโt hang around. Itโs really dangerous outside right now.โ
Chapter 745
โAurora, did you see this? If you see it, please reply quickly.โ
โEven if you donโt reply, just promise me youโll stay safe. Find somewhere safe to hide and donโt wander around.โ
She sent the messages one after another, and though it gave her a slight sense of relief, it wasnโt much. She didnโt know why, but her chest felt tight with unease. Her heart was beating faster than before.
โAurora, please, just stay safe.โ
Meanwhile, Aurora was still holding her notes, completely unaware of what was happening outside. The auditoriumโs excellent soundproofing meant she couldnโt hear a thing from beyond its walls. And with the thick structure and all the lights still on inside, she remained fully immersed in her own little world. Her phone was always on silent. Unless she picked it up to check the time, she rarely noticed new messages. Even with her talent, everything she had achieved was the result of relentless effort.
