No wonder someone as plain as Anastasia could land a designer job at Rhodes Global—she'd obviously hooked up with the boss.

She was definitely going to pose this and show everyone what kind of person Anastasia really was.

But Narissa wasn’t totally sure, so she was fishing for information right now.

Anastasia’s pen paused slightly, but she quickly recovered.

She looked up with a polite but distant smile. “You must have me confused with someone else, Narissa. I was home all weekend.”

Narissa made this knowing “hmm” sound and pulled up a photo on her phone. “So this person isn’t you then?”

The photo clearly showed Anastasia and Cassian having dinner at the resort restaurant. It was just a side profile, but anyone who knew them would recognize them immediately.

Anastasia’s heart tightened, but she kept her cool. “Taking creepy photos of people isn’t a good look, Narissa.”

Anastasia was totally grossed out–felt like being stalked.

It wasn’t that she was ashamed or anything. She and Cassian were married, after all. If people found out, so what?

Obviously Narissa didn’t know the truth and thought they were having some kind of affair.

“I just happened to run into you guys,” Narissa said smugly, waving her phone around. “But here’s the really interesting part–I also saw you both go into the same suite… Your relationship seems pretty special, doesn’t it?”

Other people in the office were definitely eavesdropping now.

Anastasia’s expression turned ice-cold. “Narissa, don’t you think you’re being way too nosy? This is my personal business and has nothing to do with you.”

Suddenly Narissa realized that if Anastasia really was involved with Mr. Rhodes, and she whispered in his ear about this conversation tonight, Narissa would be totally fucked.

After all, she really needed this job.

Narissa backpedaled awkwardly. “Sorry, I was just curious. Didn’t mean to bother you.”

Whatever. She’d find out the truth eventually. Maybe Mr. Rhodes would dump Anastasia soon anyway. What was she acting all high and mighty for?

Actually, Anastasia was kind of surprised that Narissa had been at the resort too. That place was crazy expensive–way out of most people’s salary range. Plus the resort was mostly members only. You generally had to be worth millions to even qualify for membership.
