Chapter 217
Chalnajuhoawho Rosanne was and did not notice Vespera’s expression. Vespera and her companions entered the elevator, as did Roxanne and her friend. Vespera and the others stood in front of Bekannte and her friend.
Later, in Insomnes, Vespera overheard Besanne chatting with her friend.
“Mrs. Reid said probably around 11:40. He should be here soon.”
“By right, he should be here to welcome you. How can he ask a woman like you to wait for fun! Although the Bids are very well-off, the Morenos aren’t too shabby either. Don’t be too arrogant!”
“It’s time; it doesn’t matter who waits or whom I don’t…”
“Are you really the same Roxanne that I know? Seems like you’re really in love with him. But Mr. Hell is truly very handsome. It’s hard not to fall for…”
“Stop it! Nothing is set in stone yet.”
Roxanne chatted with her friend while Vespera stood in front, acting calm and composed. However, Rebecca seemed taken aback. She tilted her head slightly, looking at Besanne and her friend. However, the elevator stopped at the thirtieth floor.
As soon as Rebecca stepped out of the elevator, she pulled Vespera close and whispered, “Is she the very same Ms. Momen you were talking about?”
Vespera nodded. “Yes, it’s her. The heiress of the Moreno Group.”
Rebecca massaged her temples, unsure of what to say. “Dominic is really coming here for a date? That bastard! He really is a scumbag!”
Vespera whimpered, “Not so loud.”
She tugged Rebecca into their room. “Okay, let’s not talk about that anymore. He wasn’t trying to fool around with me and already made things very clear.”
Rebecca scoffed coldly. “That’s because he has a new target!” Something seemed to have angered her, and she narrowed her eyes.
“If I weren’t there that night, would he have…” Rebecca chuckled. “Not bad, the plan depends on sleeping with you while going on bland dates.”
“Becca!” Vespera covered her mouth. “Byron is still here. Stop talking, okay?”
“It’s got nothing to do with him,” Rebecca mumbled back, patting Byron’s head. “He’s one of us.”
Helmedly nodded at her words.
Vespera was at a loss. She looked around the room and realized that Rebecca had booked a large suite with two bedrooms.
“Byron, you’ll be taking the smaller room,” Rebecca called out.
Vespera was about to say that Byron was all grown up and should have his own room. Then, she watched Rebecca order him around—pouring drinks for her and even asking him to give her a massage.
So, Byron was there to be Rebecca’s butler.
Vespera walked toward the window and looked at her location. Since Roxanne was staying at this hotel, would Dominic be here as well?
Suddenly, Vespera noticed Dominic’s car heading for the hotel. Whatever hope she had was crushed instantly.
Was this the only live-star hotel in Ashford?
Vespera became frustrated. “Becca, why don’t we go to another hotel?”
“Why? No! If anyone should switch hotels, it’s them!” Rebecca became stubborn. “You’re his secretary, and that’s all you two are—employer and employee! You can always quit your job!”
“It’s not like you have no other choice, and he’s the only one who can be you! Why should you be afraid of him?”
Vespera wasn’t afraid of Dominic. She merely felt intimidated and extremely frustrated. Yet, she was unable to retort to anything Rebecca said.
“Whatever. Who cares if we run into each other? We’ll focus on our mission.”
“Exactly! He’s here for a date, and we’re here to look for…” Rebecca paused. “We’re doing something entirely different.”
Vespera smiled. “You’re right. Different things.”
Vespera and Rebecca stayed in the room for half an hour to discuss the arrangements for the afternoon.
Rebecca explained, “I already asked someone to locate the young woman’s address. We’ll visit her after lunch.”
Vespera asked, “What about Tha?”
“We’ll just go with the idea. We’ll love to see how it goes.”
If things go as planned, Mrs. Sowie will bring Tina to Hond tonight. But that’s still precarious.
Yesterday, Rebecca asked Miranda to seek Claire out and explain that she had already found a solution. Upon hearing that, Claire really did pay Miranda a visit immediately.
