Listen to this chapter:

A soft, almost unnervingly calm voice drifted to her ear, sending a chill down her spine. “Msildon, be careful. Don’t let your fingers slip and delete something.”

Mespera trod for a moment. “Alright.”

She obediently agreed and then, without blinking, quickly deleted the message. Since she had already made one slip of the hand, she knew a second one was still possible.

After deleting the terrifying chat history, she felt a little calmer. She snapped a few photos and handed the phone back to Dominic.

Dominic took it back, his expression unchanged.

A while later, Gerard was startled to discover that Dominic had posted something on Instagram. He screamed inwardly, “Holy crap! What the–!”

However, Raymond remained calm. He smiled warmly, like a doting father, and was the first to like the post.

Seeing Gerard’s reaction, Vespera couldn’t help but think that he looked as if he had been struck by lightning. “What’s wrong?” she asked.

Gerard, unable to look at the post anymore, buried his face in his hands and handed her the phone, urging her to see it for herself. Vespera glanced at it for a second before she fell silent.

Chapter 134

Dominic posted a picture of a strawberry cheesecake without any caption, but he did add an emoji—an emoji with eyes closed and a shy smile. It was an ordinary emoji, but when placed in the context of Dominic, it felt out of place. Vespera couldn’t help but wonder what he was shy about.

Dominic stood up. “Let’s go to the office.” He walked out, Gerard and Vespera followed him.

In the elevator, Vespera stood behind Dominic, her eyes focused on his back. She realized that she had completely misjudged her new boss. When he wasn’t being cold and aloof, he could be quite funny. He didn’t seem to care about other people’s thoughts, either.

Gerard was still caught up in that emoji. Unable to resist, he leaned toward Dominic’s seat and whispered, “Mr. Reid, did you maybe post the wrong emoji? That one is called ‘shy.’” Not wanting to leave any confusion, he added, “It’s a very girlish kind of shy.”

Dominic’s expression remained cold. “Is it? Oh, it was probably a slip of the hand.”

Vespera widened her eyes. “No! No, no, no! He’s messing with me… He’s insane!”

Still not getting the message, Gerard suggested, “Maybe you should change it?” The emoji he posted was unsettling enough to freak out one of his friends.

Dominic responded flatly, “I’m not changing it.”

Gerard almost spoke up to offer to change it for him, but after meeting Dominic’s cold, piercing gaze, he immediately closed his mouth.

Vespera was on the verge of a breakdown. She really couldn’t understand him. He was seriously insane.

On the way to the Tavian Group, Vespera and Gerard remained silent while Dominic’s Instagram exploded. Someone who had never posted on Instagram suddenly making an update was shocking enough. But the fact that it was a picture of a sweet, fluffy strawberry cheesecake paired with a shy emoji—something completely out of character for him—was enough to make anyone lose their mind.

The comments section exploded, his messages were flooded, and his phone kept ringing—especially from his siblings.

“Dominic, if you’ve been abducted, post a 1.” “Dominic, if you’re in a relationship, post a 2.”
