"Is that so?" Rachel couldnโt think of a more convincing reason.
"Yes."
After hanging up, Rachel took a deep breath and composed herself. She kept reminding herself that she was at work now and shouldnโt be distracted by personal relationships. No matter how confused she was about Tylerโs actions, she would have to wait till after the contract was signed to talk about it.
When Rachel ordered the flowers online, she left instructions for the flowers to be fresh, still budding, and not left overnight. She had to pay extra for that. Money truly makes the world go round nowadays.
When it was about time, Rachel knocked on Tylerโs door. He had already changed into a navy blue suit, exuding intellect and dignity. His sharp features looked even more aggressive, giving him a colder, more distant impression than usual.
Rachel remarked casually, "I donโt remember you wearing suits in this color."
Once, she accidentally opened his closet and found that his clothes were all in cool color tones. Though navy blue was considered a cool tone, she didnโt find a single item in that color in his closetโnot even a tie.
Tyler lowered his head and straightened out his tie.
"I heard that Ms. Charlton likes this color. I canโt wear a color that my potential customer doesnโt like, can I, Ms. Lloyd?"
Rachel didnโt know what to say in response. Rationally speaking, she agreed with what Tyler said. Deep down, her emotions gnawed at herโshe couldnโt help but wonder if Tyler was going overboard just for the sake of business. He should be focusing on the project itself. As long as the proposal was satisfactory, the business partner would sign it regardless of his outfit. If he cared more for such superficial matters and the proposal turned out horrible, all his efforts would be in vain. However, Rachel decided to remain rational and said nothing.
She glanced at her watch. "The florist said that the flowers will be arriving at the lobby soon. Letโs head out."
Tyler asked, "Did you bring the perfume?"

Rachel handed him an exquisitely wrapped box. "I did, donโt worry."
"Thatโs good. Get Yale, and Iโll head downstairs to wait for you two."
"Okay."
As Rachel looked at Tylerโs retreating figure, an odd feeling rose in her chest. She shook her head, retracted her gaze, and went to call for Yale.
Arriving at the restaurant, they found it rather packed. Even so, the crowd didnโt affect its excellent ambience. Despite the number of people, the place wasnโt noisy as everyone kept their volume down.
The moment a man of Tylerโs stature, aura, and looks walked in, he immediately became the centre of everyoneโs attention. The women in the restaurant started mumbling to each other.
"That man looks so handsome! I havenโt seen a man who looks that good in a while."
"Oh, come on! Canโt you tell? Heโs attached, and heโs even carrying a bouquet of roses."
Rachelโs gaze swept across everyone in the restaurant, whose attention was on Tyler. She hurriedly called for a waiter. When they settled down at a table, everyone in the restaurant finally looked away. Rachel heaved a sigh of relief.
A while later, the waiter brought in a lady clad in a black dress embellished with gold embroidery, which glittered in the dim light and accentuated her curves. Her hair was done up, leaving two locks framing the sides of her face, softening features that belonged to a classical beauty. When she saw Tyler, a smile lit up her face.
"Tyler, itโs been a while."
