Chapter 698
Rachel froze for a moment. She wasnโt sure herself, but at this point, what was done was done. Now, all that mattered was figuring out how to fix it.
โDonโt worry, letโs just figure it out along the way.โ
When Tyler arrived at the company, the entire building was lit up. Instead of going straight in, he ordered Yale to call in the technicians and the staff on the night shift.
Trailing behind, Yale couldnโt help but ask about what happened. It felt wrong to stay in the dark.
โMr. Hunt, what exactly happened at the company?โ
โThe surveillance system was destroyed. Someone must have broken in. Check every important file and contract thoroughlyโmake sure nothingโs missing.โ
โYes, sir.โ Yale pressed the elevator button and added, โBut whoever did this must be incredible. Our security system is supposed to be the best in Yurelia City, and they still managed to crack it.โ
โThereโs always someone better and smarter. The moment you think your company is untouchable, thatโs the moment it starts falling apart.โ
Yale lowered his head respectfully. โUnderstood, Mr. Hunt.โ
Tyler moved with a purposeful stride, the kind that sent a chill in his wake.
When he pushed open the office doors, the place was in chaosโemployees scrambled through contracts and files, checking every detail.
Tylerโs gaze suddenly shifted to the safe. He walked over, crouched down, and opened it. Yale, standing a few steps away, felt his heart nearly leap out of his chest at the sight. He even pressed a hand against his upper lip to steady himself.
The safe looked untouched. Tyler flipped through the files inside. Nothing was missing, but one thing caught his attention. There were three contracts he didnโt immediately recognize.
He pulled them out, scanned the partner companies, then flipped to the last page. His brows furrowed deeply when he saw the signatures and seals.
โYale!โ
His roar snapped Yale to attention, making him jump. โMr. Hunt, whatโs the matter?โ
โGet over here.โ
Yale exhaled shakily. He then walked up and asked respectfully, โYes, Mr. Hunt? What is it?โ
โExplain this contract. Iโm certain I never signed itโso why is my signature and company seal on it?โ
Yale blinked in confusion and shook his head.
โMr. Hunt, I have no idea. I havenโt even been in the office lately. Last time you told us to put those projects on hold, so I didnโt touch them. Besides, no one else knows the safe combination but you. As for the signature and stampโcould it be that you signed it yourself and just forgot? Itโs not impossible.โ
Tylerโs tone was firm. โI didnโt sign it. Iโm absolutely certain.โ
Yale immediately distanced himself. โI have no clue. The safe can only be opened by you, no one else. And the signature, look at it closely. Isnโt it your handwriting?โ
Tyler narrowed his eyes at the page. The signature was indeed his, down to the handwriting itself.
But he knew, without a shred of doubt, that he hadnโt signed it.
