Rachel walked further inside and asked Yale, โWhy?โ
โDonโt you think LS Enterprise sounds like someoneโs name?โ
Yale didnโt give her the answer outright. Instead, he dropped a little hint.
Rachel pressed the elevator button. โWhose name?โ
Seeing that Rachel wasnโt picking up on the clue at all, Yale tried again. โThink about it carefully. Which other alphabet sounds like L?โ
Rachel pressed the button, and the elevator doors closed. She racked her brain. There were just too many possibilities. How could she possibly guess?
โYale, youโre just making things hard for me. Tyler knows so many peopleโhow would I know whose name he used? Donโt tell me, itโs his motherโs?โ
Yale was speechless. Seeing that she couldnโt guess, he gave up on the riddle.
โCloser than you think.โ
Ding!
The elevator doors opened just then.
Rachel froze. โYou donโt mean me, do you?โ
โL sounds like R, and R is the first letter of your first name. Itโs not that hard to figure out,โ Yale replied.
Not hard to figure out? This seems excessively subtle. Rachel had only tossed the guess out casually, never expecting it to actually be right.
As she stepped out, she said, โYale, are you joking with me? How could that be? Why would Tyler name his company after me? Besides, when he started the company, I wasnโt even around, was I?โ
โIt doesnโt matter if you werenโt there. What matters is that youโve known Mr. Hunt for a long time. You just didnโt have your attention on him back then.โ
Rachel felt like she was dreaming.
โThis is impossible! You must be joking. Is Tyler so bored that heโd name a company after me? Why not call it TH or something?โ
After all, companies named after people are everywhere. There was no need for it to be her.
Yale gave her a knowing smile. โAs for the real reason, Ms. Lloyd, I think thatโs something you should figure out for yourself.โ

With that, Yale stepped forward and unlocked Tylerโs office with his key.
It wasnโt Rachelโs first time inside, but this time the office looked messyโand Tyler was known for being meticulous. That could only mean one thing: he really was too busy, busy enough to let go of the tidiness he normally valued so much.
Rachel walked over to the desk and saw papers scattered all across it.
She casually picked one up and glanced at it. They were all proposals, but all of them were piled here on Tylerโs desk, which meant they had been rejected.
That surprised Rachel. Tylerโs proposals were usually the kind everyone fought to get their hands on, but now, no company wanted them.
Rachel lifted the stack and asked Yale, โYale, are none of these successfully submitted?โ
Yale looked at the scattered documents and sighed.
โThatโs right, none. You know Mr. Huntโs situation right now. And thereโs another looming crisis. Iโm worried that if Mr. Hunt keeps refusing to give in to Mr. Thomas, and if word about his background ever leaks outโฆ For Mr. Hunt, that would be another heavy blow. Donโt be fooled by the way he acts, like he doesnโt care. He actually values family deeply. If he didnโt, he wouldโve never come back to Yurelia City.โ
Rachel could relate all too well. Everyone in this world longed for family.
But when all one received in return was disappointment, one would be forced to become who they were nowโto try to give up on family, to stop hoping for even the tiniest bit of warmth.
That was what happened when hope was exhausted.
Rachel looked away.
โAlright, letโs get on with business. The contracts I had Jerry send youโitโs still with you, right?โ
โOf course, Iโve got it.โ
Yale took out the stack of contracts. Rachel picked up a pen, and Yale pulled out one of Tylerโs previously signed contracts to use for comparison.
