Rachel consulted with the attending doctor, who took a look at Geraldโs medical records and shook his head with a sigh. โMr. Lloyd has a heart condition and shouldnโt be emotionally agitated at his age. If his condition suddenly flares up, it would be very troublesome.โ
Rachel asked, โIs there any treatment available for his condition?โ
โA coronary stent isnโt recommended for a patient at his age. Instead, I recommend a conservative approach to treatment for him.โ
Rachel agreed. Jim probably wouldnโt allow Gerald to undergo such a major surgery at his age.
โAlright. Prescribe him some medication, then.โ
Rachel was on her way to the pharmacy when she bumped into Tyler. A thought suddenly came to mind, and she called Jerry.
โJerry, come over right now.โ
Jerry rushed to Rachelโs side within five minutes. โWhatโs the matter, Rachel?โ
โJerry, I need to head to the pharmacy downstairs to get some medication. Help me accompany Mr. Hunt for his medical review. Ask the doctor if his bandages need to be changed and when the cast on his leg can be removed.โ
Jerry shot Tyler a side glance, looking very reluctant. Being a straight talker, he didnโt hesitate to reject Rachel.
โI donโt want to.โ
Rachel furrowed her brows, surprise flashing past her eyes. โWhy not?โ
Ever since she got to know him better and earned his trust, Jerry had never gone against her wishes. It wouldnโt even be an exaggeration to say that he was willing to go through hell and high water for her. Why was his rebellious streak suddenly showing when she asked him to go with Tyler for his review?
Being the haughty and arrogant man he was, Tyler refused to back down. With a cold glare, he said disdainfully, โI donโt need him coming with me. Weโll go after youโre back.โ
โBut I want to go visit my dad after thatโฆโ Rachel said, clearly put on the spot.
Tyler lifted his hand to glance at his watch and said gruffly, โItโs fine. I donโt have anything on right now, anyway.โ
Just as Rachel was helplessly thinking of what to do next, Jerry suddenly had a change of mind.
โIโll go with him.โ
His tone was still reluctant despite his verbal agreement.
Rachelโs eyes lit up, taking his word for it and turning a blind eye to his reluctance. โThatโs great. Take him there now, hurry.โ
โNo need. I can go there myself.โ
With that, Tyler hobbled on his frame and headed to the consultation room by himself.
Rachel cast him a worried look before turning to remind Jerry, โQuick, catch up with him! He never takes care of himself.โ
Jerry tilted his chin haughtily. โHe said it himself. He doesnโt need me with him. Iโll go with you to the pharmacy instead.โ
โJerry, Tyler got injured because of me. I have the responsibility and obligation to take care of him till he recovers.โ
Rachelโs face was solemn, a stark difference from her usual mild-mannered and easy-going temperament. Jerry knew this meant that she was serious about this.
โFine, Iโll go with him.โ
A smile lit up Rachelโs face. โIโll take you out for a meal after this. Itโs been a while since you enjoyed the local cuisine here, right?โ
โWeโll see about that later. Iโll be off now.โ
