Chapter 639

Tylerโ€™s gaze turned sharp, and he cut Xavier off mid-sentence.

โ€œDonโ€™t you have anything better to do lately?โ€

Xavier, clearly annoyed, waved him off impatiently. โ€œGo stand over there. Donโ€™t get in the way while weโ€™re talking.โ€

He eagerly grabbed Dr. Frank by the shoulders. โ€œWhatโ€™s your name, doctor?โ€

โ€œIโ€™m Defino Frank.โ€

When Defino Frank said it out loud, he looked a little embarrassed.

Xavier froze for a second. This guy was definitely frank with his words. Realizing his reaction wasnโ€™t very polite, Xavier quickly forced a smile. โ€œYour name is definitely fitting.โ€

Defino chuckled awkwardly. โ€œMy mother picked it. She wanted me to grow up brave and to always speak my mind, because I was really timid as a kid.โ€

Xavier seized the chance to smooth things over. โ€œI see. Well, why donโ€™t we step outside and talk? No need to disturb them here.โ€

Defino didnโ€™t refuse. In fact, he nodded eagerly.

โ€œSure, sure, letโ€™s go.โ€

With their arms around each otherโ€™s shoulders, the two of them walked out of the ward. Tyler and Yale were left dumbfounded, while Sasha was completely thrown off.

Not long after, Sasha realized that if she stuck around any longer, she would be in trouble. After all, she hadnโ€™t actually had Frank forge anything yet. Technically, Tyler couldnโ€™t pin her down. Seizing the moment, she slipped away before anyone could stop her.

Once Tyler got the full picture, he told Xavier to keep a closer eye on Jim.

By then, they had already dug into Definoโ€™s background.

โ€œTurns out, Dr. Frank said Sasha and Yvette brought him in. Their whole purpose was to determine if Jim has any kind of mental illness. If he does, theyโ€™d have grounds to overturn his will and rewrite it.โ€

Tylerโ€™s brows furrowed, a sense of unease creeping in his chest. โ€œHow is Jimโ€™s mental state, then?โ€

โ€œDr. Frank swore on his decades of medical practice that Jim really does have psychological issues. If heโ€™s tested right now, it will definitely come back showing heโ€™s not of sound mind.โ€

Tyler stroked his chin, his eyes narrowing. โ€œAnd how much stock do you put in Dr. Frankโ€™s words?โ€

Xavier thought carefully. โ€œBased on my own judgment, Iโ€™d say thereโ€™s a seventy or eighty percent chance heโ€™s right.โ€

Tyler gave him a sharp look, surprised at the response. Xavier was usually cautious. If even he was saying that, then maybe Defino wasnโ€™t bluffing. If Jim really was diagnosed as mentally unstable, this was going to be a serious problem.

Just then, Yale walked over, looking excited. โ€œMr. Hunt, thereโ€™s something I need to tell you.โ€

โ€œWhat is it?โ€

โ€œOur company just got a huge order! They specifically requested to work with us, and theyโ€™re pushing to sign the contract as soon as possible.โ€

โ€œHave you reviewed the proposal yet?โ€

Tyler was usually too busy to look over partnership projects himself, so Yale would do the preliminary reviews. Though only an assistant, Yale was highly educated. He wasnโ€™t a specialist in everything, but he was more than capable of handling most day-to-day matters.

โ€œI did. It looks excellent. I think youโ€™ll be pleased.โ€

โ€œShow me.โ€

Yale quickly pulled out his tablet and handed it over. โ€œMr. Hunt, there are three companies currently interested in partnering with us. Here, take a look.โ€

Instead of taking the tablet right away, Tyler frowned slightly and asked, โ€œWhy are so many suddenly looking to work with us?โ€

โ€œI was surprised too.โ€

Tyler fell silent, clearly thinking something over. Yale, still holding out the tablet, nudged it a little closer toward him.
