Chapter 639
Tylerโs gaze turned sharp, and he cut Xavier off mid-sentence.
โDonโt you have anything better to do lately?โ
Xavier, clearly annoyed, waved him off impatiently. โGo stand over there. Donโt get in the way while weโre talking.โ
He eagerly grabbed Dr. Frank by the shoulders. โWhatโs your name, doctor?โ
โIโm Defino Frank.โ
When Defino Frank said it out loud, he looked a little embarrassed.
Xavier froze for a second. This guy was definitely frank with his words. Realizing his reaction wasnโt very polite, Xavier quickly forced a smile. โYour name is definitely fitting.โ
Defino chuckled awkwardly. โMy mother picked it. She wanted me to grow up brave and to always speak my mind, because I was really timid as a kid.โ
Xavier seized the chance to smooth things over. โI see. Well, why donโt we step outside and talk? No need to disturb them here.โ
Defino didnโt refuse. In fact, he nodded eagerly.
โSure, sure, letโs go.โ
With their arms around each otherโs shoulders, the two of them walked out of the ward. Tyler and Yale were left dumbfounded, while Sasha was completely thrown off.
Not long after, Sasha realized that if she stuck around any longer, she would be in trouble. After all, she hadnโt actually had Frank forge anything yet. Technically, Tyler couldnโt pin her down. Seizing the moment, she slipped away before anyone could stop her.
Once Tyler got the full picture, he told Xavier to keep a closer eye on Jim.
By then, they had already dug into Definoโs background.
โTurns out, Dr. Frank said Sasha and Yvette brought him in. Their whole purpose was to determine if Jim has any kind of mental illness. If he does, theyโd have grounds to overturn his will and rewrite it.โ
Tylerโs brows furrowed, a sense of unease creeping in his chest. โHow is Jimโs mental state, then?โ
โDr. Frank swore on his decades of medical practice that Jim really does have psychological issues. If heโs tested right now, it will definitely come back showing heโs not of sound mind.โ
Tyler stroked his chin, his eyes narrowing. โAnd how much stock do you put in Dr. Frankโs words?โ
Xavier thought carefully. โBased on my own judgment, Iโd say thereโs a seventy or eighty percent chance heโs right.โ
Tyler gave him a sharp look, surprised at the response. Xavier was usually cautious. If even he was saying that, then maybe Defino wasnโt bluffing. If Jim really was diagnosed as mentally unstable, this was going to be a serious problem.
Just then, Yale walked over, looking excited. โMr. Hunt, thereโs something I need to tell you.โ
โWhat is it?โ
โOur company just got a huge order! They specifically requested to work with us, and theyโre pushing to sign the contract as soon as possible.โ
โHave you reviewed the proposal yet?โ
Tyler was usually too busy to look over partnership projects himself, so Yale would do the preliminary reviews. Though only an assistant, Yale was highly educated. He wasnโt a specialist in everything, but he was more than capable of handling most day-to-day matters.
โI did. It looks excellent. I think youโll be pleased.โ
โShow me.โ
Yale quickly pulled out his tablet and handed it over. โMr. Hunt, there are three companies currently interested in partnering with us. Here, take a look.โ
Instead of taking the tablet right away, Tyler frowned slightly and asked, โWhy are so many suddenly looking to work with us?โ
โI was surprised too.โ
Tyler fell silent, clearly thinking something over. Yale, still holding out the tablet, nudged it a little closer toward him.
