Chapter 328

I tried to calm myself, offering a faint smile. โ€œMr. Galatea, this isnโ€™t a good place to talk. Let me go back, and we can have tea another day, okay?โ€

Matthew chuckled and nodded. โ€œWell, youโ€™re right. This definitely isnโ€™t a good place to talk.โ€ He finished speaking and winked at me.

My heart sank. Before I could react, two bodyguards flanked me. My heart tightened. I looked at Matthew anxiously. โ€œWhat do you want?โ€

Matthew turned his jade thumb ring and smiled. โ€œI want to take you toโ€ฆ a better place to talk.โ€ His tone was meaningful, his eyes aggressive.

Panicked, I wanted to call Reynaldo. However, before I could open my phone, the bodyguards snatched it. I was rudely shoved into a car. I panicked and tried to get out, but the door was locked. Matthew quickly sat down. He looked at me with a mocking smile as I pulled at the door. He chuckled, โ€œMs. Duffy, I advise you to behave. Although I, Matthew, am very considerate, I donโ€™t like disobedient women.โ€

โ€œWhat do you want?โ€ I asked firmly.

He chuckled, blowing a smoke ring. โ€œWhen we get there, Ms. Duffy will naturally know.โ€ I turned away, trying to create distance. Further struggle seemed futile.

I tried to calm myself. I had no quarrel with Matthew; heโ€™d abducted me, presumably to deal with Reynaldo. At tonightโ€™s dinner party, although he cooperated with Reynaldo, he remained unconvinced. He was probably retaliating against me for Reynaldo, aiming to regain momentum. He might have even kidnapped the wrong personโ€”shouldnโ€™t he have kidnapped Kimberly?

The car drove smoothly for about half an hour, stopping before a luxurious villa. Matthew exited first; his bodyguard then pulled me out. They dragged me inside.

I asked Matthew, โ€œIs this your house? Why did you bring me here?โ€ He didnโ€™t answer, striding into the house. He poured two glasses of red wine, handing me one.

I shook my head hastily. โ€œSorry, I canโ€™t drink.โ€

Matthew sneered, handing the glass to a bodyguard. Suddenly panicked, I said urgently, โ€œNo, no, I really canโ€™t drink alcoholโ€ฆโ€ I tried to run, but the bodyguards restrained me. Another bodyguard approached, holding the wine. I struggled, but it was useless.

Matthew sat on the sofa, watching me expectantly. He took a sip of wine and smiled. โ€œI am a very vengeful person. If you donโ€™t give me face, I will naturally find a way to get it backโ€ฆโ€

โ€œNo, Mr. Galatea, listen to me.โ€
