Chapter 292

The client was Matthew Galatea, reputed to be a powerful figure in Yoripero. The information I found was scant, mostly gossip. It suggested he appreciated beautiful women. His photos showed a handsome man, yet his face hinted at rebelliousness and wickedness. No wonder Jonathan couldn't handle him; he seemed like a difficult person.

However, since Reynaldo and Jonathan didn't profit from exploiting women, why did they take me to that dinner party? I knew nothing about the project, and at the dinner party, I didn't know what to say. I also can't drink alcohol, so dinner parties are awkward for me; I just eat or sit silently.

I lay in the recliner for a long time, unable to understand, and finally decided to stop thinking about it. As long as they didn't send me to that predatory client. The afternoon passed quickly, and evening arrived. I didn't see Kimberly causing trouble that day; I didn't know if she was still hospitalized.

After Reynaldo and Jonathan left, they didn't return. One afternoon, the silence made me wonder if theyโ€™d forgotten my existence. This waiting made me uneasy. I wanted to ask Jonathan the dinner party time to prepare, but I realized I hadn't saved his contact information. I didn't know if he was still in his room.

I opened the door to find him, but as I knocked, a voice called, "Esmic, are you looking for me?" I quickly turned and saw Jonathan walking toward me from the elevator, Reynaldo beside him. They must have just returned from outside, carrying a chill with them. In the dim corridor, Reynaldo's handsome face appeared even gloomier, his eyes unfathomably deep. I barely dared to look at him, merely telling Jonathan, "Yes, I need to talk to you."

"Oh..." Jonathan glanced at Reynaldo and asked, "Esmie, what do you want?"

I pursed my lips, about to ask about the evening's dinner party, when Kimberly suddenly rushed from her room, her sweet voice announcing, "Reynaldo!"

I was stunned. She had been quiet all day; I thought she was in the hospital. She ran to Reynaldo, taking his hand and saying, "You're finally back." Reynaldo glanced at me indifferently and returned to his room with Kimberly. As he passed, I felt the distinct chill emanating from him. I hung my head, clenching my hand.

After they entered, Jonathan turned to me, asking, "Esmie, what did you want to talk about?" Ignoring the bitterness welling up, I asked, "What's the deal with tonight's dinner party?"

"Oh... It starts at seven; we were just returning to pick you up."
