Chapter 280

Seeing me frown, he quickly smiled and said, โ€œOh, okay, I wonโ€™t tease you anymore.โ€

โ€œHowever,โ€ he continued, โ€œI booked three rooms in this hotel. If you donโ€™t stay in this room, where will you stay?โ€

โ€œThen Iโ€™ll go book a standard room again,โ€ I replied.

Johnathan stopped me. โ€œStop messing around. This hotel is the best in town and itโ€™s fully booked. I managed to book three rooms in advance.โ€

โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you book an extra room at the beginning?โ€ I asked. โ€œReynaldo and I used to be married, but weโ€™re divorced now. Booking a room like this is reallyโ€ฆโ€ I trailed off, feeling dejected.

Johnathan immediately felt wronged. โ€œItโ€™s not my fault; itโ€™s all Reynaldoโ€™s fault. He said it would just be him coming with you. How was I supposed to know Kimberly would come running after you?โ€

I had been stunned to see Kimberly at the airport.

I leaned against the door, feeling a bit down. What was going on now? Did I have to live with Reynaldo for the next few days?

Johnathan glanced at me. โ€œOh, itโ€™s no big deal. If you really donโ€™t want to live with Reynaldo, how about sharing a room with Kimberly?โ€

โ€œLet it go,โ€ I murmured weakly. Living with Kimberly felt the same as living with Reynaldo.

Johnathan chuckled. โ€œWell, Kimberly is such a troublemaker, always causing so much trouble.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s a good ideaโ€ฆโ€ Johnathan touched his nose, grinning. โ€œYou want to share a room with me?โ€

As Johnathan said this, Reynaldo appeared silently behind him. The thick carpet muffled his approach. I opened my mouth to remind Johnathan.

Little did I know, Johnathan snatched my bag and said enthusiastically, โ€œThatโ€™s settled then. If you donโ€™t want to live with Reynaldo or Kimberly, you can live with me.โ€

โ€œDonโ€™t worry,โ€ he continued. โ€œAlthough my room isnโ€™t a presidential suite, it is quite spacious. You can sleep on the bed, and Iโ€™ll sleep on the sofa. Itโ€™s okay; Iโ€™ll be back in a few days after this business trip. Go, go, goโ€ฆโ€ He muttered to himself, reaching for my hand.

At that moment, a cold laugh echoed from behind him. He stiffened, blinking at me.

I quickly pushed away his hand and respectfully called out, โ€œMr. Humphrey.โ€

Johnathan rolled his eyes, quickly handing back my bag. โ€œYouโ€™re really something. Reynaldo is good-looking, in good shape, and sleeps well. Why donโ€™t you want to share a room with him?โ€

โ€œOkay, stop messing around,โ€ he said. โ€œHurry back to your room and warm up the bed; we still have important things to do tomorrow.โ€

He turned, seemingly just realizing Reynaldoโ€™s presence. โ€œOh, Reynaldo, did you calm down Kimberly?โ€

Reynaldo gave me a cold glance and snorted. โ€œDo you want to share a room with my secretary?โ€

Johnathan shook his head. โ€œNo, itโ€™s Esmie who didnโ€™t want to stay in the same room with you, insisting on staying somewhere else. You saw she had everything packed up; I was afraid she would run around everywhere, so I suggested she stay in the same room as me. I was thinking of letting her stay in my room, and Iโ€™d share a room with you, hehe.โ€

โ€œForget it,โ€ Reynaldo retorted without hesitation. โ€œWith your sleeping posture, Iโ€™d be more comfortable sleeping on the street than with you.โ€
