Chapter 280
Seeing me frown, he quickly smiled and said, โOh, okay, I wonโt tease you anymore.โ
โHowever,โ he continued, โI booked three rooms in this hotel. If you donโt stay in this room, where will you stay?โ
โThen Iโll go book a standard room again,โ I replied.
Johnathan stopped me. โStop messing around. This hotel is the best in town and itโs fully booked. I managed to book three rooms in advance.โ
โWhy didnโt you book an extra room at the beginning?โ I asked. โReynaldo and I used to be married, but weโre divorced now. Booking a room like this is reallyโฆโ I trailed off, feeling dejected.
Johnathan immediately felt wronged. โItโs not my fault; itโs all Reynaldoโs fault. He said it would just be him coming with you. How was I supposed to know Kimberly would come running after you?โ
I had been stunned to see Kimberly at the airport.
I leaned against the door, feeling a bit down. What was going on now? Did I have to live with Reynaldo for the next few days?
Johnathan glanced at me. โOh, itโs no big deal. If you really donโt want to live with Reynaldo, how about sharing a room with Kimberly?โ
โLet it go,โ I murmured weakly. Living with Kimberly felt the same as living with Reynaldo.
Johnathan chuckled. โWell, Kimberly is such a troublemaker, always causing so much trouble.โ
โThatโs a good ideaโฆโ Johnathan touched his nose, grinning. โYou want to share a room with me?โ
As Johnathan said this, Reynaldo appeared silently behind him. The thick carpet muffled his approach. I opened my mouth to remind Johnathan.
Little did I know, Johnathan snatched my bag and said enthusiastically, โThatโs settled then. If you donโt want to live with Reynaldo or Kimberly, you can live with me.โ
โDonโt worry,โ he continued. โAlthough my room isnโt a presidential suite, it is quite spacious. You can sleep on the bed, and Iโll sleep on the sofa. Itโs okay; Iโll be back in a few days after this business trip. Go, go, goโฆโ He muttered to himself, reaching for my hand.
At that moment, a cold laugh echoed from behind him. He stiffened, blinking at me.
I quickly pushed away his hand and respectfully called out, โMr. Humphrey.โ
Johnathan rolled his eyes, quickly handing back my bag. โYouโre really something. Reynaldo is good-looking, in good shape, and sleeps well. Why donโt you want to share a room with him?โ
โOkay, stop messing around,โ he said. โHurry back to your room and warm up the bed; we still have important things to do tomorrow.โ
He turned, seemingly just realizing Reynaldoโs presence. โOh, Reynaldo, did you calm down Kimberly?โ
Reynaldo gave me a cold glance and snorted. โDo you want to share a room with my secretary?โ
Johnathan shook his head. โNo, itโs Esmie who didnโt want to stay in the same room with you, insisting on staying somewhere else. You saw she had everything packed up; I was afraid she would run around everywhere, so I suggested she stay in the same room as me. I was thinking of letting her stay in my room, and Iโd share a room with you, hehe.โ
โForget it,โ Reynaldo retorted without hesitation. โWith your sleeping posture, Iโd be more comfortable sleeping on the street than with you.โ
