I was so annoyed that I looked up at her and sneered, “Instead of asking me this question, why don’t you ask your Reynaldo if he would let me go?”

Kimberly’s eyes twinkled as she smiled at me and said, “So, if Reynaldo were to let you go, would you immediately settle down with Jonathan?”

I opened my mouth, but before I could answer, Reynaldo suddenly put down his fork and looked coldly at Jonathan, saying, “Come out with me.”

Reynaldo dangerously squinted his eyes and said, “Come out!” He coldly dropped those two words and then walked out of the private room.

Jonathan immediately threw down his fork and glared at me and Kimberly with resentment. “You two can play by yourselves; why do you have to drag me into it? Now I might as well be skinned alive by that man.”

Kimberly innocently asked him, “Jonathan, what are you talking about? Reynaldo must have something to tell you if he asked you out.”

Jonathan rolled his eyes in silence and then looked at me. I gave him a subtle nod.

After the two men left, I began to eat in peace. Kimberly kept staring at me, her eyes no longer pitiful and innocent, but haughty and disdainful.

She said to me, “Ms. Duffy, do you know why Reynaldo insisted on you going on the business trip with him?”

I ate my food in silence, ignoring her. She chuckled and continued, “Because, you see, this client is exceptionally fond of making things difficult for people, and I heard that this client is very twisted, especially enjoying tormenting beautiful women like you with good looks and figures.”
