Chapter 87: The Fall of Peyton

Just as she raised her arm, a strong hand suddenly reached out from behind and grabbed her wrist. Before Peyton could react, the hand mercilessly swung her away. The force of the impact caused the glass in Peytonโ€™s hand to slip, spilling its contents and soaking her completely. Her white dress was instantly drenched, leaving her in utter disarray.

โ€œWho dares!โ€

Furious, Peyton was about to unleash a torrent of curses. But when she saw who it was, her arrogant attitude instantly turned to panic. Standing before her was Fraser, the Bossman of Havenbrook. The man was tall and imposing, dressed in a finely tailored black shirt and straight-legged dress pants that perfectly accentuated his long, well-built legs. His entire presence exuded an air of nobility and nonchalance, but at this moment, his dark eyes burned with cold anger.

Although Peyton didnโ€™t know Fraser deeply, who in Havenbrook was unaware of his immense power and influence? Peyton quickly regained her composure, reverting to her usual delicate and submissive demeanor in front of men. She hastily smoothed her hair.

โ€œMr. Graham, what brings you here? Iโ€ฆ I just had too much to drink. Itโ€™s not what you think.โ€

Fraserโ€™s gaze was cold as ice. โ€œWhat do I think?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s justโ€ฆ Summer insulted me, and I was so upset that I couldnโ€™t control myself.โ€

โ€œSummer, Iโ€™m sorry. I know youโ€™re jealous of me; thatโ€™s why you said such harsh things. But this is between us. Can we settle this privately? Iโ€™ll do whatever you want.โ€

Summer scoffed inwardly. Peyton was the type to twist the truth and play the victim. With her pitiful appearance and tearful eyes, few men could resist her act. Summer felt a surge of anger, worried that Fraser might believe Peytonโ€™s lies. She stood up from her chair.

โ€œHmph, Iโ€™m not Trevor. Your tricks wonโ€™t work on me.โ€

There was no trace of pity in Fraserโ€™s gaze, only icy contempt. Peytonโ€™s face turned red at his words. I hadnโ€™t expected Fraser to be so impervious to her charms and so unyielding. My usual tactics were useless.

Peyton tried to explain further.

But Fraser stepped forward, picked up a handkerchief from the table, and gently took Summerโ€™s hand, wiping away the drops of water that had splashed on her. Fraser looked down, his expression softening, his voice tinged with concern. โ€œAre you okay?โ€

Summer felt the warmth of Fraserโ€™s hand cupping hers. His touch seemed to send a wave of heat through her body. Her heart felt like it was on fire, even hotter than the palm of his hand.

Summer whispered, โ€œIโ€™m fine.โ€

Peyton watched the scene and rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

โ€œGood thing my girlfriend says sheโ€™s fine. Otherwise, Ms. Peyton, you might not be able to go home tonight.โ€

Fraserโ€™s deep voice carried a hint of threat, sending an involuntary shiver down Peytonโ€™s spine. Peyton was stunned by the word โ€œgirlfriend.โ€ Mr. Grahamโ€ฆ girlfriend? Is Sumโ€ฆ Summer?! Peyton couldnโ€™t believe it. She even wondered if she had misheard. How could Mr. Graham be interested in someone like Summer, a โ€œsecondhandโ€ woman? What did Summer have to offer anyway?

Fraserโ€™s voice, casual yet cold, cut through the air. โ€œIs this restaurant open to everyone?โ€

The restaurant manager had been standing nearby since Fraser arrived. After all, everyone who entered this restaurant was either wealthy or influential. Although he had heard the commotion at the observation table, the manager had decided not to intervene because he did not want to offend anyone. But now that Mr. Graham had spoken, and considering that half of the restaurantโ€™s shares belonged to him, the managerโ€™s attitude changed immediately.

โ€œMr. Graham, Iโ€™ll have her removed immediately?โ€

The manager turned to Peyton, his expression stern.

โ€œMiss, Iโ€™m sorry, but you have violated the etiquette of our restaurant. From now on, you are permanently banned from entering our establishment.โ€

As soon as these words were spoken, everyone in the Cloud View Restaurant turned to stare at her. Peyton felt as if all the blood in her body had been drained away. Her face burned with unprecedented humiliation, and she wished she could disappear into the ground. She shook her head repeatedly. โ€œNoโ€ฆ Itโ€™s not like that.โ€

Meanwhile, Nora had just emerged from the toilet, completely unaware of what had happened.
