Chapter 58: A Jealous Rage
Threatening his hospital? Knowing Fraserโs ruthless streak, Xavier backed off fast.
โI was at the Linden Bridal Boutique today, picking up my cousinโs jewelry, and saw Summer trying on dressesโฆ with Trevor.โ
โIs that so?โ Fraserโs voice was glacial. Even over the phone, Xavier felt the chill of his anger. It looked like Fraser was serious about Summer.
โMr. Graham, do you actually like her?โ
The call cut off, leaving Xavier stunned.
Meanwhile, Amelia and Zack exchanged a glance and switched seats. Amelia plopped down next to Fraser. As Zackโs sister and the Miller Groupโs heiress, sheโd known Fraser since childhood, when their families were close. Sheโd fallen for him at first sight and had been angling to marry into the Graham family ever since. No luck so far. With Zack tanking the family business and their wealth dwindling, they were desperate to reconnect with the Graham family.
The moment Amelia sat beside Fraser, she felt the jealous glares from the other actresses, feeding her ego. Amelia thought to herself, A-list stars? Please. I am a Miller heiress; only someone of my caliber could match the Graham family.
She held two glasses of red wine and offered one to Fraser, her voice syrupy. โMr. Graham, itโs Amelia. Remember me?โ
Fraser, still seething from the photo, was about to leave when he saw her in his way.
โWhat?โ he snapped.
Ameliaโs tone was sweet as a songbird. โMr. Graham, we met as kids. I even went shopping with your mother recently; she really likes me.โ
The current Mrs. Graham wasnโt his birth mother, but sheโd raised him. Fraser stood, his gaze icy. โIf she likes you, whatโs that got to do with me?โ He brushed past her, ready to leave.
Amelia, panicking, reached for his hand. โMr. Graham, donโt go! Iโve got so much to say.โ
Zack, whoโd been flirting with a starlet, rushed over at her yelp.
โMr. Graham, whatโs wrong? Did Amelia mess up? Sheโs adored you since we were kids; maybe she got too excited. Forgive her, please.โ
Fraserโs patience was gone. Normally, he might spare some courtesy for the Miller patriarch, but not tonight. โYou and your sister are two peas in a pod,โ he said, his voice dripping with disdain, and stormed off without a glance back.
Zack shivered under Fraserโs glare, the crowd snickering at the Millersโ public humiliation.
Summer didnโt go home that night. She crashed at Yvetteโs swanky apartment in Havenbrookโs ritzy district. Yvette had a room set aside just for her, a mark of their close bond. Fresh from a shower, Summer padded out in pajamas and grabbed a mineral water from the fridge. Yvette burst in, rocking a sexy red strapless dress.
Summer blinked. โBack already?โ
Yvette kicked off her heels, rubbing her ankles. โMr. Graham bailed, so the party fizzled out. We all called it early.โ
Summer sipped her water, pausing at Fraserโs name. Casually, she asked, โWhat went down with the prince?โ
