Chapter 50: Love Me Forever

Summer glanced at Trevor, who was leaning against the couch. He wore a silver suit jacket, his tie perfectly knotted, legs crossed, exuding the commanding aura of a man in power even while seated. It seemed that Trevorโ€™s way of making amends was through a grand, extravagant wedding. But she no longer needed it.

Summer said coldly, โ€œDad, I already told you. I broke up with Trevor. Weโ€™re not getting married.โ€

Jasper choked on her words, his expression darkening. She had been talking about breaking up for a while now, but he had always dismissed it as childish tantrums. After all, in families like theirs, marriage and breakups werenโ€™t childโ€™s play. They involved the reputation of entire corporations. Besides, it was normal for couples to argue and even break up in the heat of the moment.

Today, Trevor had specifically brought up the wedding again. He even made it clear that his wedding gift would be a global logistics company for Stewart Group. Jasper had long dreamed of expanding into logistics, but he didnโ€™t have the resources yet. Now, with Trevor offering this wedding gift, Jasper wished Summer could marry him tomorrow.

Trevor adjusted his cufflinks and stood up, unfazed by Summerโ€™s declaration of their breakup. Ever since the โ€œkidnapping incident,โ€ she had been acting like this. He believed that once Summer tried on the top-tier wedding dress, adorned herself with the one-of-a-kind โ€œTrue Loveโ€ jewelry, and realized that this wedding was designed by none other than the world-famous Linden, making her the most prestigious bride in Havenbrook, her anger would naturally dissipate. Besides, Peytonโ€™s surgery was scheduled for next week. Once she recovered, he would have more time to spend with Summer. Then she wouldnโ€™t have to be jealous all the time.

โ€œSummer has been upset with me lately, and I admit I havenโ€™t done enough,โ€ Trevor said smoothly. โ€œThe wedding dress was meant to be a surprise. I should have told her in advance.โ€

Seeing that Trevor wasnโ€™t angry, Jasper beamed. โ€œGood. Go ahead and try it on.โ€

Summer remained motionless, her face full of resistance.

Summerโ€™s eyes widened in shock. โ€œDad, you promised me this before! As the chairman of Stewart Group, how can you go back on your word?โ€

Jasper, ever the cunning businessman, smirked. โ€œI did promise, but I never said when. Once youโ€™re married, itโ€™s yours. Now, be good and go try on the wedding dress. Remember to take pictures so your mom and I can see how beautiful you look. I heard Trevor even invited the worldโ€™s most renowned wedding designer, Linden, for this.โ€

In the end, Summer was still dragged out by Trevor, all the way to the underground parking lot. Trevor watched her, amused by her attitude.

โ€œSummer, I never knew you were so obsessed with the Stewart Group. If you like it that much, Iโ€™ll give you 5 percent of the Larson Groupโ€™s shares once weโ€™re married. Thatโ€™s worth far more than 30 percent of Stewart Groupโ€™s. So just be my wife, alright?โ€

Summer rolled her eyes dramatically. โ€œTrevor, are you deaf? Do you really think Iโ€™m joking about breaking up? Iโ€™m telling you, Iโ€™m not.โ€

Trevor stared at her, watching as frustration colored her face a delicate shade of pink. Her upturned eyes shimmered, her gaze sharp yet captivating. Even in anger, she was so strikingly beautiful that it was impossible to look away. Trevor had always known that Summer was breathtaking. At first glance, she was stunning. But the more one looked at her, the deeper the spell she cast, like a siren, enchanting and dangerous.

โ€œI never thought you were joking,โ€ Trevor said. โ€œSummer, give me a chance to make it up to you. This wedding and this dress are the best proof of that.โ€

Summer took a deep breath. She knew Trevor was just that arrogant and confident. That was why he had once hurt her so recklessly, convinced she would never leave.

โ€œTrevor, I donโ€™t love you anymore.โ€

Her voice was calm, steady. Trevorโ€™s expression darkened, his eyes narrowing as if he had just heard the most absurd thing.

โ€œYou donโ€™t love me?โ€ He let out a low chuckle. โ€œSummer, do you really think Iโ€™d believe that? You were the one who chased after me. You promised youโ€™d love me forever. Thatโ€™s the only reason I agreed to be with you.โ€

Summerโ€™s face flushed red. Indeed, she had been the one to chase him back then, clinging to him, forcing him to be with her. She never thought that the love she once held so fiercely would now turn into a blade aimed straight at her heart.
