Chapter 358: Nothing Left Unsaid
Summer finished in one breath, not daring to look at his reaction. Fraser lifted his head, his gaze dark and steady as it locked onto her. โIโm glad you chose to tell me all of this on your own.โ
Summer froze. โYou knew?โ
Fraserโs lips twitched. โSummer Piglet, you think youโre that good at acting?โ Despite his words, he didnโt sound angry.
Summerโs nose stung. โThen why didnโt you ever ask me about it?โ
Because he was afraid of the answer he didnโt want to hear. Fraser had to admitโwhen it came to this woman, he wasnโt himself anymore.
He didnโt respond right away, so Summer, clutching her pregnant belly, quickly added, โIโve got immunity now, remember? Youโre not allowed to be madโfor the babyโs sake.โ
Fraser gently tapped her forehead with his finger. โIโm not mad you made those decisions. Iโm mad you didnโt tell me sooner. You shouldnโt have had to carry that alone.โ
Summer bit her lip. โBut sheโs your grandmother.โ
Fraserโs mouth curved slightly, and he gave a quiet laugh. โAnd how do you know I wouldnโt have chosen you?โ
Summerโs eyes reddened. โThank you. Thank you, Fraser. This time, I wonโt say Iโm not worthy. Because I decidedโIโll walk through this with you, hand in hand, and Iโm not letting go.โ
The next day, Summer was discharged and returned to the Graham estate. Thatโs when she discovered Fraser had arranged for several strong, well-trained bodyguards to protect her at all times.
Summer wasnโt used to it. She protested repeatedly, but he refused to call them off. In the end, she had no choice but to compromise. The bodyguards would remain in the background, discreet and unobtrusive, so they wouldnโt disrupt her daily life.
She spent two days resting at the estate. Then Yvette sent wordโMorgan and her mother would be attending that nightโs Havenbrook charity gala.
After tonight, she was going to make sure Morgan paidโpublicly and completelyโfor everything sheโd done.
Fraser was lounging lazily on the couch, one leg crossed over the other, holding a tablet as he worked. At the sound of movement, he looked up. In the full-length mirror across the room, Summer was trying on a gown.
She wore a flowing lilac silk dress, the hem cascading like soft clouds to her ankles. The fabric shimmered like misty sunlight, dreamy and elegant. The dress wasnโt form-fitting, and unless you looked closely, you couldnโt tell she was nearly four months pregnant.
Fraser narrowed his eyes at her. โWhere are you going?โ
โCharity gala.โ
She turned around, trying to reach the zipper on the back of her dress. The movement was difficult. โFraser, come zip me up.โ
Fraser set down his tablet and walked over. He reached out with his long, clean fingers and slowly pulled the zipper up from her waist. His fingertips brushed her bare backโlight, almost teasing. The shiver it sent through her skin gave her goosebumps.
These past few days, Fraser had been sleeping next to her every night. The most he did was kiss her. A kiss on the cheek. A kiss on the hand. Nothing more.
If she hadnโt heard the shower running in the middle of the night, Summer wouldโve wondered if her charm had completely worn off. Her body had recovered well. After so much rest and constant nourishment in the hospital, her belly had even grown rounder. But intimacy was harder to bring up. It wouldโve felt like she was throwing herself at him.
Even so, falling asleep in his arms every night, she couldnโt help but feel like something was missing. She blushed.
Fraser stood behind her, holding her shoulders, looking at the mirror. He was breathtaking in a crisp white shirt and tailored black trousers, tall and composed. She, in her soft lilac gown, leaned gently into his arms.

Summer stared for a beat before snapping out of it. โWhat am I doing, being this pervy in broad daylight?โ
Fraser pinched her warm earlobe. โIโll go with you.โ
Summer cleared her throat. โNo need. Donโt you have a work event tonight?โ
Fraser didnโt even blink. โI canceled.โ
Since she came home, he had been working from there most of the time. Even when he went into the office, he returned quickly. Thinking back, Summer realized he hadnโt returned to the Graham Group since she was hospitalized.
She frowned. โItโs just a charity gala. Didnโt you assign bodyguards? Iโll be fine. Are you going to follow me around every time I step out of the house?โ
Fraser didnโt insist anymore, but he added one condition. โMessage me every hour.โ
