Chapter 323: The Tearful Reunion

Pudding still remembered her. They all remembered her. Yet, I had forgotten themโ€ฆ Summerโ€™s heart felt like it was being gently squeezed, heavy and suffocating, even her breath tinged with a sour pain. Tears gradually welled up in Summerโ€™s eyes. I really am so cruel!

After a moment, she sniffed, โ€œHow did this photo come about?โ€ She didnโ€™t recall ever having taken such a photo.

Fraserโ€™s eyes were deep, staring intently at the photo as if recalling the past, his voice low. โ€œThis photo was taken when you were playing with Pudding; I snapped it on the sly.โ€

Memories were like a canvas stained by time; though the colors were no longer vibrant, the bits and pieces of their past were veiled in a thin mist.

Summer blinked, struggling to hold back the tears threatening to spill, and feigned nonchalance, deliberately saying, โ€œSo, you fell for me back then.โ€

The corners of Fraserโ€™s lips curved up, a smile spreading in his eyes. His deep, magnetic voice sounded, โ€œMrs. Graham would be disappointed; Iโ€™m no pedophile.โ€

Her previously sour mood was lightened a bit by laughter. Her eyes, moist as if washed over by spring water and tinged red, quietly gazed at Fraser.

โ€œWhy didnโ€™t you tell me? Whyโ€ฆ didnโ€™t you tell me sooner?โ€

Fraser masked the fleeting gloom in his eyes, maintaining a faint smile that concealed a hint of bitterness. His voice, very light after a while, said, โ€œBack then, you were in someone elseโ€™s arms.โ€

Guilt and remorse surged like the sea. Summerโ€™s eyelashes trembled more violently, her throat feeling as if choked, her voice hoarse, โ€œIโ€ฆ donโ€™t deserve it.โ€ She didnโ€™t deserve his kindness.

Fraserโ€™s dark eyes stared deeply at her, his voice gentle and magnetic, word by word, โ€œWhether you deserve it or not, thatโ€™s for me to decide.โ€

Tears that had gathered in Summerโ€™s eyes finally began to fall. โ€œYou said pregnant women shouldnโ€™t cry, look, you made me cry again.โ€

Fraser raised his hand, then gently wiped a tear from the corner of her eye, his tone full of tenderness. "If I knew this today would make you cry, I wouldnโ€™t have told you."

Summer stretched out her arms, wrapping them around his neck and burying her face in his neck, her tears soaking his shirt and trickling down from his chest. โ€œYouโ€™re going to spoil me this way.โ€

Fraserโ€™s eyes flickered with amusement, smiling. โ€œIf I spoil you, itโ€™s my responsibility to the end.โ€

Hearing this, Summer hugged him even tighter. It seemed like this could make up for the fact that she had once forgotten him.

Summer looked up, her clear, watery eyes gazing at the handsome, mature man. Though his features had matured, if she looked closely, she could still see the aloofness of the boy he once was. She tiptoed and kissed his thin lips, the kiss moist and apologetic.

In that instant, a tender current shot straight to Fraserโ€™s heart. Fraser turned the tables, pressing the back of her head and deepening the kiss, savoring her sweetness.

After a long while, Summer leaned against him, breathing lightly, and whispered, โ€œWhat if I hadnโ€™t chosen you in the end?โ€ What if I was still stubborn and hadnโ€™t seen him?

Fraserโ€™s gaze shifted slightly; he hadnโ€™t neglected to prepare for the worst; he just didnโ€™t like to think about it. Fraser pinched her nose, his voice low and somewhat domineering. โ€œThere are no ifs.โ€

Summerโ€™s lips suddenly curled into a sly smile, like a crafty fox. โ€œI only just realized how domineering Mr. Graham can be.โ€

Fraser raised an eyebrow. โ€œYouโ€™re only realizing this now?โ€

Listening to his suggestive tone, Summer looked up into a pair of smiling eyes and couldnโ€™t help blushing. โ€œHeh.โ€

Fraserโ€™s relaxed and pleased laughter echoed through the office. Just then, there was a knock on the door. Mike, hesitant and fearful of entering, stood at the doorway, not eager to barge in. But the entire executive board was waiting for Fraser to start the meeting.

Mike took a deep breath, opened the door, and was met by Fraserโ€™s cool gaze. Mike felt a chill rise from his feet, awkwardly saying, โ€œMr. Graham, you have a consortium reporting meeting this afternoon; it wasโ€ฆ scheduled in advance.โ€

Fraser appeared slightly annoyed at being interrupted, looking down and glancing at her tenderly. โ€œWait here for me. If you get tired, go to the rest area and sleep.โ€
