Chapter 318: The Grip of Jealousy

Summerโ€™s cheeks flushed, knowing Fraser was hardly ever serious.

Francis chuckled cautiously, โ€œUndoubtedly, Ms. Stewart is beautiful, but the world is full of pretty girls.โ€

Fraserโ€™s eyes sparkled like stars, his tone unusually solemn, โ€œHer smile is beautiful, so beautiful it makes the world seem worthwhile.โ€

After the interview, Fraser was surrounded by the senior executives of โ€œThe Insider Report.โ€ They clamored around him, eager to make an acquaintance and possibly gain an insiderโ€™s edge.

As Summer exited the restroom and approached the interview area, she noticed Lucas standing rigidly by the exit, seemingly waiting for her. She thought for a moment and then walked over to him.

Lucas, noticing her approach, spoke with a hint of apology, โ€œSorry for the trouble today.โ€

โ€œYou were just concerned about me.โ€

โ€œSummer.โ€ Lucasโ€™s voice deepened as he suddenly called out her name. Summer looked up, her gaze crashing into Lucasโ€™s ocean-deep eyes, filled with unspoken words. She quickly looked away.

Lucasโ€™s gaze remained fixed on her, his voice soft, โ€œAre you really getting married?โ€

Summer knew he was referring to the Graham Groupโ€™s official announcement about her and Fraserโ€™s upcoming wedding. โ€œIf nothing unexpected happens, yes,โ€ she replied lightly.

Lucas smiled, though his smile was tinged with bitterness, โ€œYouโ€™re not going abroad then?โ€

Summer didnโ€™t respond; that was her private business. Seeing her reluctance to discuss it, Lucas didnโ€™t press further.

โ€œIf thereโ€™s anything you need help with, Summer, you can always talk to me.โ€

โ€œThank you, Mr. Lucas.โ€

Lucas, not quite ready to give up, ventured one last question, โ€œI have to ask one last thing. If Fraser wasnโ€™t in the picture, wouldโ€ฆ would you like me?โ€

Lucasโ€™s eyes filled with a lonely sadness, his expression wounded, โ€œOkay, I understand the answer.โ€

Not far away, Fraser, who had been encircled by a group of people, spotted the intimate conversation between the man and woman. He immediately left โ€œThe Insider Reportโ€™sโ€ executives and approached them.

Suddenly, Summer felt someone wrap their arms around her waist from behind, dominantly. She turned slightly and saw Fraserโ€™s handsome face.

Fraserโ€™s cold gaze swept over Lucas, then softened as he looked down at Summer, โ€œWhat are you two talking about?โ€

Fraser hadnโ€™t forgotten that it was this man who had taken Summer away last time.

Lucas, facing Fraserโ€™s hostile glare, couldnโ€™t help but say, โ€œFraser, I didnโ€™t lose to you; I lost to Summer.โ€

โ€œIs that so?โ€ Fraserโ€™s lips curled into a disdainful smirk.

โ€œEven though youโ€™ve helped her, Iโ€™d still prefer if you kept your distance, okay?โ€

Summer elbowed him in the chest, slightly embarrassed, โ€œHeโ€™s just a bit irritable; donโ€™t mind him.โ€

Fraser was slightly annoyed. Heโ€™s irritable? And this damn Lucas is gentle? Tonight heโ€™d show her just how โ€˜gentleโ€™ he could be!

Fraser met Summerโ€™s clear, slightly reproachful gaze. His irritation vanished in an instant. Fine! Happy wife, happy life!

Lucas exchanged a few more words with Summer before turning and walking away. Fraser coldly watched his retreating figure, then wrapped his arms tighter around Summer, pulling her close so they were face to face.

Fraser looked down into her eyes, his voice full of jealousy, โ€œFrom now on, youโ€™re not allowed to smile at other men.โ€

Hearing this, Summer blinked her clear eyes, retorting, โ€œWas I smiling?โ€

โ€œHmm!โ€ Fraser hummed, pulling his lips into an upward curve, mimicking Summerโ€™s usual smile. โ€œLike this!โ€

โ€œSo should I just purse my lips and look serious when talking to every man? Others might think Iโ€™m a monster.โ€

Fraserโ€™s lips twitched into a smirk, โ€œThat might actually be a good idea.โ€

If it were up to him, heโ€™d hide her away at home, away from everyone elseโ€™s eyes.

โ€œNuts!โ€

Summer wanted to leave. They were in a public place, an interview studio. Reporters and photographers were there, along with some executives from โ€œThe Insider Reportโ€ who looked like they wanted to approach but didnโ€™t dare to interrupt. Summer didnโ€™t want to be the center of attention, but she was tightly held by Fraser, unable to move.

Fraserโ€™s eyes bore into hers, deepening as he said, โ€œDo you remember what you owe me?โ€
