Chapter 316: Flirting with Fame
Summer froze when she saw Fraser appear. Why had he come, and so conspicuously? Lucas, sitting beside her, subtly darkened his gaze. The audience below buzzed.
โI didnโt expect to see Mr. Graham, the wealthiest man in Havenbrook, at an interview show. Impressive!โ
โMr. Graham is too handsome. Even a simple suit shows off his perfect physique!โ
But why had Mr. Graham come? Did he just mention something about having feelings for Summer? Wow, this is turning into a real showdown.
โPity, Summer is already with Lucas, and they have a child. Even Mr. Graham probably canโt win her now.โ
โIf I were pregnant and Mr. Graham came for me, Iโd choose him!โ
Fraser strode onto the stage, bathed in the spotlight, and sat down nonchalantly on the couch next to Summer. Unlike Lucas, who kept a half-arm's distance away on her right, Fraser sat right beside her, casually draping his long arm over the back of the couch, his legs crossed. From every angle, it looked as if he enveloped her in his embrace.
Fraser glanced at her; her lashes, long and curled under the lights, her gaze lowered, lost in thought. Leaning in, he whispered, โWhy didnโt you tell me about todayโs interview, hmm?โ Suddenly, his strong scent of pine enveloped her.
Summerโs face flushed. She wasnโt a celebrity; she wasnโt used to being so public. Yet, Fraser behaved as intimately as if they were alone.
Summer bit her lip. โTodayโs interview was to clear up some rumors from the press conference.โ That explained why Summer hadnโt told him, though she hadnโt expected the topic to shift like this.
โOh?โ Fraserโs eyes darkened as he smirked, his voice low and suggestive, โSo, itโs about clarification, not neing ma?โ
His presence was overwhelming, and Summer couldnโt help but edge away slightly, saying, โYouโre here now.โ So blatantly.
Fraser chuckled, his tone playful yet ambiguous. โSeems like I still donโt have a place. Alright, I guess I need to take initiative myself.โ
What is he talking about? Summer couldnโt help but roll her eyes at him as the audience watched their flirty exchange, suddenly realizingโare they openly flirting? What is going on?
Lucasโ expression remained inscrutable, his loneliness palpable even through the screen. Francis, slightly awkward, cleared his throat and continued the interview.
โMr. Graham, good to see you. Are you here for Ms. Stewart today?โ
Fraser lifted his eyelids, a slight smirk on his lips. โOtherwise, did you think I came for you?โ
The audience fell silent, then burst into laughter. Mr. Graham knew how to imply. Caught off guard, Francisโ face tinged with embarrassment, but his years of experience helped him quickly regain composure.
โMr. Graham, as the saying goes, knights joust for a damselโs hand. And Ms. Stewart is certainly beautiful. You might not be aware, Mr. Graham, but Ms. Stewart is already spoken for; her boyfriend is a kind man who gives her a great sense of security.โ
โOh?โ Fraser raised an eyebrow, his deep gaze fixating on her, his voice sultry, โYour boyfriend is warm, and gives you a sense of security.โ
With each word he spoke, Summerโs blush deepened, and by the end, her cheeks were nearly aflame. How unprofessional this reporter was! To repeat everything she had just confided.
Summer closed her eyes briefly. โHeโs making things up!โ
Fraserโs gaze softened, then his lips curled into a smile, the amusement reaching his eyes. Looking at Francis, he commanded, โCould you repeat that? I didnโt quite catch it.โ
Francisโ eyebrows twitched. Is my earlier statement that hard to understand?
โMs. Stewart said her boyfriend is a man who gives her a great sense of security. Though he occasionally annoys her, heโs mostly very gentle to her.โ
Summer remained silent. No need for such detail.
Fraserโs gaze deepened, nonchalantly adding, โSo, thatโs how I am in your heart.โ
